There are quite a few members here who shape their own boards.

That cedar board looks nice!

Jeff aka SurfDad, will have all kinds of knowledge to share with you

Welcome to the board

Hey Ian - that e.cedar board is gorgeous - you'll have to do another and make it hollow like the e.balsa's.

You should share with the rest of us your builds! Great work.

I tend to focus (obsessed? :-) ) with more esoteric building methods - not necessarily better methods. :-)

thanks guys,

Jeff, it was a fun project but having said that I don't see myself making any more boards. I'll finish the cedar one for sure and probably glass the foam board but that will likely be the extent of my surfboard making career!

I thought my cedar build was a lot of work but wow does your balsa boards process look involved.

I figure i have about 40hrs in the cedar board to date with ~4-5 remaining

Say it ain't so! :-) Yeah, the e.wood boards really eat up a bunch of time, the e.balsa became a career. :-)

I was hoping you'd tackle a chambered e.cedar - hollow out between vertical "ribs" before the glue up.

Either way, that is a great looking board you built.

Oh my God! So not! e.wood and s.wood is the root of all evil AND will the cause of the demise of civilization as we know it. (Did that sound too over-the-top? :-) )
