What are people using for a subwoofer when mounted at the drivers foot area? I have a 2005 Centurion Avalanche and would like to mount a sub in that spot. Is a free air the best option? What are people using and how does it sound? Thanks.

The ideal way to do it is a custom box with anything between a 10" and 15" woofer depending on how much room you have, with proper power it will sound awesome and pound hard. Free air subs have just never really had what people are looking for.
