I'm thinking about buying a drysuit. I am torn between the Boost or the Bare Ultra. What are your experiences with either suit? Thanks

Both are good, the Bare will feel tighter around the neck

Personally, I liked the neoprene neck on the Boost...

My buddy just bought the Boost and I took his old Bare Ultra. He seems to really like it. Personally, I prefer the Bare since it has a tighter neck and I can't stand the smell of neoprene. Used it the last two weekends and didn't get one drop. For sizing, I'm 6'1, 205, in an XL.

not to say that you won't ever get wet, but you'll stay dryer in the bare.

I love my Bare for the opposite reason that Richard likes his Boost!

It seems to me that the prices are pretty close. I just want the driest dry suit...

i've worn a drysuit from Adreline "plastic bag style", no frills. Sold it & bought a Bare... that was a really good suit for the money, sold it because it made me look fat, bought a Boost, & found out now I'm just slightly overweight. Bare & Boost both great, Boost just more colorful.

i like the boost better and the neck on mine chokes me out every time. way better in my opinion.

Yep, if you decide to go Bare, go Grizzly's.

Grizzly never had their drysuit deals advertised online but if you call, they'd set you up. I don't know if they're still selling the Ultras at the killer prices they have in the past.

If you are a beginner and are douching the suit alot, get the Bare, the neck seal is tighter. If you have been riding a bit and can manage to keep from taking headers, get the Oneill. It is much more comfortable and has higher quality materials in the body for longevity.

All suits will leak if the seal is attacked directly. The key to staying dry is to stay in your bindings and dont stick you hands down when you fall. get you hands up, and keep from going in head first, and all suits will stay dry.

Ill also add that the modern sealed wetsuits are actually pretty dry. In most cases (except for the most firgid of locations) this is a better choice, IMO. Baggy drysuits get too bulky feeling and arent very flexible. I have a Boost, and only keep it for visitors to use. I use a new style wetsuit all winter.
