My HSE is great, Thought I didn't need one at first. But man that thing is very nice to have.

And I must admit it compliments my Trident box nicely.

Does any one know how hard this is to install?

Thanks

The word Hard does not come into affect when installing the HSE. If you want something to say is hard it can only be deciding on where you want ot mount it. I have seen some Velcro it up to existing EQ's and for me I installed it right next to my EQ.

Then you only wire in power and tap one wire to your RPM lead. Plug in your RCA signal in/out and you can use the aux input for your Ipod if you so choose.

I have been using it for just over a year and have had no issues at all. The other feature I love is being able to adjust your volume level by the turn of a knob so you are able to decide on how much it turns down at lower RPM's.

Watersport Innovations is a different company, and our product (the Boost Box) works differently and has it's own patent. Feel free to call me on my cell and I'll answer any questions.

Boost Box works on the angle at which it is sitting. Change in angle as the boat planes activates the boost. As such, it must be mounted in one of two positions. HSE Revolution Volume Control works on engine RPM. HSE's product is functionally superior, and will be featured in all Pro Tour edition X-Stars for 2009. That's a pretty good endorsement.

From personal experience, the HSE Volume Control has revolutionized the use of our boat stereo. I wouldn't want a boat without it.

For me it sounds logical that it works on the engine rpm, but I DO like the feature that the BoomBox operates through your radio remote controls. So the music volume decreases or increases like somebody is turning your volume knob and not another piece of hardware between your radio-equalizer-amplifiers...

Is there nowhere a combination of the two?!

I also am pretty sure the HSE gives you higher volts. What is it called like a line driver?? That's what I was told by some stereo ppl. But I have no idea except everyone that has driven my boat with it says they like it.

Ok so I have been looking at the hse and I have 1 queshtion? How are you guys installing it? It only has one set of outputs. So are you just running the tower off of it or ? what about the rest of the boat?
Old     (kscales)      Join Date: Oct 2006       11-21-2008, 9:56 AM Reply
From what i have seen I like how simple the Boost box is. I like that basically it's just another remote and does not effect your current system at all. no need to re tune.. each to their own, guys that like to tinker, will love the HSE box, guys that want "plug and play" will like the boost box...

Either way I am glad both these products are available, we have all waited to long for products like this.

A: Many people run a setup that goes
Audio Source -> Volume Control -> EQ -> Amplifiers.

Another method is
Audio Source -> Volume Control -> RCA Splitters -> Amplifiers.

Regardless of how it's done there are ways to control all amps, not just the ones that power your tower speakers.

No preference here. Both units provide a great solution.

The BoostBox functions as a remote control so it does not go in the signal path. This means that it will not change the existing relationship between a triple preamp source unit and a multi-channel amplifier.

The HSE has plenty of gain if you need to add several inline level controls to replace the source unit zone controls.

HSE has no tuning to do. It is the same as a mute in your remote.Your only adjustment is how loud your turning up your stereo. Watch the video demostration. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=310102264492

Mastercraft is only the first to put the HSE as part of their equipment offered in their boats. you will see a few more manufactures offer it with theirs this 09 season.

The boost box only works with certain model head units, correct?

I really dig the Boost Box, installed it on a buddies boat and it didn't take any time at all, plus it seems to work really accurately.

the boost box looks cheap IMO.. I always have loved the quality and care Jim at HSE puts into his products.

Original? Seriously, HSE might be the first for wakeboardboats, but let's be honest, RPM volume control is nothing new

I looked at both, Boost box was my choice because of the cleaner install and how simple it is to operate.. I bought something that would aid in my pleasure while driving the boat, I was not looking for something that I needed to re configure and tune to my existing system.

I will say it again, if you like your system and want a simple install go with the Boost Box.. This thing takes no longer then 30 minutes to install and could not be easier.

If you are building your system and are in the planning stages then look at both units and decide... the HSE is super nice, and it does have some cool features...

HSE here and I love it, wouldn't want another boat without it.

The HSE is just as easy to install, Right now about the same price, and has more options.

For me, If I were to buy one right now, the choice would be simple.
