Thiss last weekend I picked up a 94 S10 Blazer 4 door. It has 4x6's on the dash and 61/2 or 63/4 in the rear doors that are back mounted I think. I believe both have fairly shallow space so I was thinking Pold DB's for both the front and rear. I also want to get a newer cheap deck. IT has an older Clarion that probably wasn't terrirble in it's day but I think it needs something new. The only real recruiment I have is a USB port in the front so I can hook my droid to. I am pretty sure just deck power is fine. I know it isn't ideal but I really don't think I will add subs so I would rather not deal with installing an amp. So basically I am looking at an inexpensive deck with a USB port that is capable of running 4 decent speakers. I would like to keep the whole setup in the $250-$300 range if possible.

Any suggestions would be great.

I have had great experience with the Alpine decks that I have had. In my opinion, if you dont go with a double din indash, alpine looks the best. if the deck doesnt have a usb on the face plate, you should be able to get a an adapter that will run from the back of the deck. Its how my pioneer indash works and its great. I have the usb extender that I can plug a flashdrive into or an ipod cable for my iphone.

Wetsounds.

lol... jk. Polk sounds like a good affordable choice. I'm re-doing the stereo in my boat and have been getting almost all of my stuff from caraudioclassifieds.org I've found a ton of killer deals on there...may be worth checking out.

Hey Brett, I know you said you don't want to install an amp...but I searched out a budget system in your price range that would work out well.

6.5"
MTX 6.5 $90

Polk 6.5 DB $50

4X6"
Polk DB $55

MTX $80

Amp
RF P450.4 $100

Head Unit
Pioneer with ipod USB connect. Price drop to $55
http://www.caraudioclassifieds.org/f...ad.php?t=69959

$325 with MTX speakers
$260 with Polk speakers

Everything is OBO. I got a brand new Exile X1200.1 and a brand new Exile X800.4 for $400 shipped. They're pretty much the same quality amps as the newer Exile stuff...just hard to find. A lot of good deals on Caraudioclassifieds

Ben, I think my biggest issue with the amp is I don't feel like running the wires from teh battery, deck and to the speakers. This is a setup I was considering.

I would consider either of these Polk DBs although the "P" plate style aren't listed as fitting on crutchfield. I think I would actually prefer the plates if they fit. I remember those being better then a regular coaxial.

Polk DB651S(I think they need to be the shallow mount)

And then for the deck I would probably go with an Alpine or Pioneer as I have always heard good things about them. Does anybody know what deck brand has the best built in amp for an inexpensive option? The vehicle already has a Din adapter for the current deck so I think just doing a DIN mount would be the easiest.

Ya, I know what you're saying about not wanting to run all the wires...it sucks.

The setup you listed looks like it'll accomplish what you want nicely. I've always liked the quality of polk.

Let me know if you need any help on the battery stuff.... lol... jk

And, as for the decks...Pioneer and Alpine or both great. I'm not sure which would have the better internal amp, but if I were to guess, it would be the Alpine.
