Has anyone had any difficulties in doing so, I removed one side very easy, the other side would not budge and trying to move it slightly looked like it would easily damage the transom before coming undone. '03 VLX...

I know on mine that you need to lift it straight off on both sides at the same time otherwise it gets jammed. Sometimes I can do it myself and sometimes it takes two people, one on each side. I think it depends on expansion / contraction with the weather or amount of moisture in my swimstep.

Yeah I have to take mine off everytime to put it in the garage. It has to be level or it gets stuck.

Put some grease on your the bracket where the platform slides down. Makes it a lot easier.

A rubber mallet always helps too!

I have an '03 VLX and the first 5-6 times it was miserable to install/remove. It gets easier over time. Not sure if it because you just get the hang of it, or it just fits better. Probably both.

No problems with the pins, I've tried w/ 2 people lifting straight up, no luck and I stopped trying since the mount attached to the transom was moving about 1/8 of an inch which caused some worry. Maybe the rubber mallet and grease is the next thing to try.
