Less than 55' - 2.14%
55' to 60' - 2.67%
61' to 65' - 9.09%
66' to 70' - 22.46%
71' to 75' - 32.62%
76' to 80' - 19.79%
Over 80' - 11.23%

I am actually shocked by these numbers to most people really ride that short of a rope 66' to 75'???? That seems Crazy short to me. Are people counting the handle in there? That seems SO SHORT TO me. What kinds set-ups are people riding? Just Curious.

Thats the money range on my boat. At least I think, perhaps a tape is in order. I am riding behind a 91 MC. Recently got to ride behind a 24SSv and rope was 71-75 for sure.
I liked the longer line for sure.

i ride at 65 or 70 depending what im doing. we have an I/o with a fairly wide wake, and any longer then 70 and the wake turns to crap while going between 22 and 24. 65-70 its golden.

and for the record, i was surprised that many people ride short as well

I ride at 75 and some of my buddies ride at 80. That is total length from the tower including the handle. I can ride 80, but 75 is more comfortable right now.

Andy, you're assuming that everyone has a wakeboarding specific boat. Lot's of people ride under 70ft because that's the only place their boat cleans up at for a reasonable speed. Also, judging INT has taught me that the majority of riders (Advanced and Under), are very comfortable at 70ft or under.

Caleb, you are correct, in fact after I posted it this I was like man I bet I am gunna get called out on thinking that everyone is riding a wakeboat.

Good POINT!

Andy - You have a very narrow hull as well. Behind some of the larger beem boats the wakes are much wider. I know that under similar conditions (speed and ballast) 75' behind my boat feels (wake width wise) the same as 80-85' behind the older Super Air and X-star hulls.

Not everybody here is a pro and probably is much more productive at 70' as compared to 80'.

Eubanks,

I agree with you on the Narrow Hull, but Behind the New X-Stars, BU's, SAN's, and even Colin Ryan Supra I still Ride a 85' - 87' rope.

Honestly, again, when I posted this I was assuming that every one who answered was rocking a Wakeboat. My Bad.

Also I kinda figured people were not adding in the Handle too.

75 is the perfect length for me behind my 24 SSV but I try to slow it down to the point where my wake curls right behind my cut up the wake. I have found that slowing it down just a bit makes a better wake shape for me. Seeing as how I am old and ride wake to wake mostly. ;)

If you load heavy you need to run the boat faster to get the right wake. If you run faster you need a longer rope to give you the air time across a narrower wake.
Most people don't ride with more than stock weight. I'd pull my kids at 55' if I had it. As it is they ride 60' with the handle.

I ride at 91 ft at 26.7mph behind my Supra 22ssv. The shortest I've ridden in the past 5 years, even behind a loaded I/O is 75 ft. I like a longer rope for sure. Don't like the feeling of being rushed to the wake.

I'm with Eubanks, the majority of riders are probably not throwing hammers and are riding at 22mph or less so 65' to 75' is good for most.

70' rope + the handle @ 24mph is what I ride.
