So i dewinterized the boat yesterday and ofcourse there were problems. the main problem is that when I flip the switches for the blower, stereo, etc they dont work but the gas gauge and the wake plate gauge both drop. I dont know much but my guess is that this is being caused by a problem with the alternator, however I did not have a meter around to test it with. Does this sound like the problem? Any suggestions? Thanks.

In your battery compartment in front of the battery is a circuit breaker. Check to see if it tripped. Reset it and try again

im confused.. was the engine running? cause the alternator simply charges your battery....
blown fuses? corroded battery terminal? bad battery?

My guess would be a discharged battery. Did the boat start and run? Or are you just sitting in it on the trailer?

the boat starts and runs fine. I ran it for awhille thinking it would fix the problem, but had no luck. I reset the circuit breaker, and once again no luck. Thanks for the help.

Could be corroded switches, I've got a bilge pump switch panel in my boat that looks fine on the front but take it off and the back is solid rust. The pumps don't work and I don't expect that switch will ever work again.

check for corrosion on the small positive and negative cables

thanks for the help everyone after checking tons of connections I realized that I left one of the stereo grounds undone from the battery problem solved. then I was wondering why the ballast wasn't filling up, that was because the main valve was closed. hopefully I will learn to pay more attention to detail. once again thanks for the help.
