I ride behind a 2003 SAN limited. When we got it weighed down well it is more of a pig then any other boat I ride behind. The RPM stay very LOW as well. I suspect that maybe since it was a the 1st 2003 the dealer got in maybe the prop is the wrong size. What size is the standard prop for the 2003 SAN, did they change it for 2004.

The boat is on a lift and I pan on swimming under there this weekend and finding out what size prop/pitch it is.

How much weight do you have in there? My boat 02 Super Air - Team with full ballast, 520lbs of lead and about 6 adults seems to be bit of a pig but the wake is just enormous so I don't mind. I bent my original prop so I ordered a new one that was one size smaller and it did not make much difference that I could tell. Check what size prop your is and I will check both of mine an post up.

If you are heavily weighing down your boat, you need a different prop. I suggest an Acme 644. $349 shipped to your door. It will improve your hole shot, but you can hit the rev limiter at full throttle.

We have it weight down well, about 2000lbs. BUT in the old SAN (2001) we had a lot more RPMs trying to get going. Its not the Pigish start up as much as the low RPMs that is the concern.

In the VLX we ride behind we have as much weight and the wedge and it gets up and moves.

IF I remember right the RPM on the SAN are only getting to 2400 or so.

2000lbs total and we never have more then 4 people in the boat. 3 or 2 most of the time.

Well that is more weight than we run, You definatly might wnat to get a lower pitch prop. Call Acme prop and talk with Tom, he will hook you up. My boat runs at 3000-3200 with the weight we ride with.

I bought a new prop for may SAN from boarditup about a month ago because I was having the same issue. What comes standard on a limited is a 13.5x17.5 I changed it to 13.25x16 and it has made a huge difference. Karl had it to me in a few days and had the best price I could find. It is worth making the change IMO.

I made the same change as Tom and the difference was noticable. ACME seems to offer new props to CC a couple times a year so I recommend a call to ACME to see what they say. And yes the 2004 has a different prop.

Running the same prop as Tom & Troy. Have a spare 13.25x15.5. Run anywhere from 1500lbs to 2500lbs total ballast, no compalints here.

The SANTE comes with less pitch than the Signature or the Limited. The non-team comes with a 13.5 X 17.5, and the Team comes with a 13.5 X 16.

You might want to try the Team prop for a little more low end power. Be advised that I can bounce off the rev limiter with that prop on my boat.
