So, I just went to the boat show, and found out that the mastercraft dealer in houston (used to be darryl moore marine) is gone. They are actually not gone... they just don't sell mastercraft anymore. This is really not cool because my family is looking at getting a new boat soon (probably a mastercraft) and it would be a pain to have to drive all the way to austin (for maintenance and such) because that's the closest dealer now. I heard the reason that they stopped is because mastercraft didn't like them selling their boats along side malibu. That's just a rumor though. Anyone have any info on this?

not that this is what happened, but darryl moore has some salesmen that are douches. the service there isnt great ive heard and all round the people are just about themselves, not the customer. we looked at one malibu at the boat show and never looked back after we got out. we went to houston watersports complex and now we have a sanger. part of hwc startup was based on the crappy work done by darryl moore marine ive heard as well. so maybe mc got tired of customer complaints and pulled the plug. again, this is just speculation, as im sure others have had great experiences.

I went to the Houston Boat Show on opening night and noticed the same thing... No MasterCraft boats at Darryl Moore's booth..... All Malibu... I was seriously considering trading in my I/O on a MasterCraft.... I was going to ask someone but wouldn't you know.... Couldn't find a single person working the area! Yo TX Cook.... Your right about the salespeople working there... All about themselves... Could never get anyone to help me when I showed up on the showroom floor... You would think they would want to sell a boat! And the service department..... I was looking for the tracks that Malibu uses for the windbreaks in their boats.. Darryl Moore's said they could order them.... I had to call on 4 different occasions to follow up.... Never got them... I took my business elsewhere....

I heard from a reputable source thatthere already is someone that is slated to take the MC dealership in Houston. Just call MC and they will give you their number. Also Darryl Moore still has MC boats to sell. They have all of them listed on an easel at the show. I bet they would give a real good price just to get rid of the boats.

I didn't even give DM a chance when I was looking at boats based on all the customer services horror stories. I would have seriously considered a Malibu LSV it it weren't for their reputation.

Maybe you should check out Texas Tige in Houston. All of the guys that work there are down to earth and very helpful. Plus they support all of the local tournaments.

Leo, I know Brandon pretty well. Customer service, Texas Tige beats any delaership in Houston, hands down.

Houston Water Sports Complex, Texas Tige and Rinkers Boat World are all great places to do business. They are all highly recommended by the local folks.

Man i am looking at 220 nautique, new Tige RZ2, and a wakesetter. Im really not sure on which one yet. Like the RZ2. I have to say brandon with Texas Tige is a cool bro. They take care of there people. I have never heard anything negative about them. I have owned a malibu before and currently own a GG launch. I had bad experience with servise as well with DM

WOW I buy from Darryl's all the time and I had no idea! I can see them not being happy with the dealer though. Is their any way to find out some info about the new dealer?
Old     (newtige20v)      Join Date: Dec 2005       06-22-2007, 5:26 PM Reply
sold my Wakesetter due to constant breakdowns and BAD dealer service at DMM. Now I have a Tige 20v from Texas Tige. I only see my dealer when I need a new board or at Texas Tige events. No need to go in for service, my 20v just asks for gas and eye candy.

I think the problem is that DMM sells so many boats that is hard to give really good service.

well guess what...the local Austin Mastercraft dealer(Boat Town) is losing Mastercraft as well...

Texas Ski Ranch will cover this area now....

same experience here too guys....DMM service is horrible, I have sent it in to get some things fixed and they don't do the job a full 100% percent. this past year I had the fuel sender replaced...take it to the water the first time, filled it up and smelled gas...took off the seat and looked down and they hadn't even tighten the screws on the darn thing, had to do it myself. I have found out that they just don't complete the job fully, and when you're charging $95/hour or whatever high rate it is, I better get the boat back 100% complete. I have found worker rags in my boat, ballast switches coming off the switch panel, even grease in the carpet from there f-ing shoes..DONE with DMM!!!

Anyone heard any news about this issue? How does one investigate franchise rights with MC?

yes there is a new dealer in the works, im sure everyone will know soon. do you all think another dealer will be good for houston, do you think the other dealers will accept this well?
Old     (bennettag10)      Join Date: Aug 2005       06-25-2007, 7:26 PM Reply
I don't think the other dealers have a choice but to accept this... and yes, houston needs a mastercraft dealer... because i say so

does anyone have any info on the new dealer?

Houston Mastercraft seems to be the name and they will be located out in Katy near I 10 and Grand Parkway. MC seems to be going single line in Houston and Austin. Texas Tige is single line, focused on the product and has been awarded 100% customer satisfaction two years running with a third this year I am sure. Thank you Texas Tige for bringing back first class service for a first class tow boat.

Thats the thing, I've dealt with everyone from Mr. Dorton down the ladder with my last boat, and I'm getting vague feedback from all of them. Thus making me wonder how much of this is speculation, and what is fact. Myself and a couple other parties are VERY interested in the possible investment opportunities here, and no one can seem to give me a reliable point of contact.

i doubt there are any ops for investing, from what ive heard from MC the deal is done. Im they are quiet about it for a reason, but i dont know, kyle and i heard about it at the same time. Kyle i got cleared to ride again by my arm doc, so i guess ill be on the water soon. wait, i sold my board, i guess i need to get a new board!!!lol

Matt, I would just call mastercraft and ask them. My mom sent an email to sanger to find out if she could become a dealer here in Louisiana. They were really straightforward and told her exactly what she would have to do.
