is the board worth riding behind a boat

it would be fun behind the boat. Not worth being your only board.

i havent ridin a normal board since i picked up the roam. i can do all my tricks on it plus i learned a few more tech tricks right away once i started riding it. its a very loose board, feels like snowboarding.

interesting.

Jason - I saw the vid on wakepics that SB made, you and Tyler Killingsworth. Smooth. Nice vid.

yeah interesting. I find all the flex doesn't have that same sort of pop. I was riding one today on that new slider at OWC, and its just so much fun. I want to get one to ride behind smaller wakes and sliders. but I still like having that bit more support from a traditional wakeboard when I'm hitting kickers or riding a big wake.

Jason, were you riding that parks finless? I couldn't really tell. Post some vid of you on the roam, I'm sure we'd all like to see it.

I just purchased the 139 but I'm in Minnesota so I will be spending a lot of quality time looking at it for a while yet. But hopefully its everything I'm hoping.

Kristian- you said the roam doesnt have the same sort of pop. How so? Is it less of a pop? Just wondering.

If you are lookin to figure size you will want to add around 4 cm to your normal size of wakebaord you ride.

Ex: I ride a LF Balance 140cm so I would want to ride a 144cm HYPERLITE Roam.

Trust me on this, you'll be glad once you get used to it. Roams are fun boards to ride...try it

Mark- I'm sure you'd get the same height, but its a big flexy board so it feels pretty differant.

Kristian: Jason does ride the Parks board fineless.

I heard Josh Storrer was trying TS 9s on the Roam yesterday. Between him and Callen, it sounds like once you get used to it, you can make it do anything.

sounds like you're right there J-Rod. I could be just a point of getting used to it.

On the point of the roam, what type of warranty does it have? Does it cover slider use?

I rode the Roam for the first time this weekend. So much fun. Super loose and flexible for playing around behind the boat. It took a little bit of getting used to the landings because the board would really accelerate on the landings, but not bad once you got used to it. I rode the 139 and think I'd like the 144 better. The 139 just didn't have enough nose and tail to really flex. I don't think, I'd use the Roam as my only board (unless maybe you only ride delta glass), but it makes a real fun second board to have around.

yea man i havent ridden a board with fins for a long time. i took the fins off my parks at the beggining of the year last year. got the idea from josh storrer actually. once the roam came out i was stoked though. it did take a couple rides to get used to it, jus like any new board, but its a killer ride. i dont have any vid of me on the roam quite yet. should have some sick stuff in the next month though. keep an eye on wakepics for vid by SB.

damn that is sick. I also saw the vid of Storrer on the roam. awesome. I want that loose feel. I ride a TFD and I'd be crazy to take the fins off of that thing! I might go to the .8s though..

ive got teh 39 roam and its super fun, takes a few to get used to but damn its FUN. the board doesnt give the same pop as regular boards cause it has so much flex it absorbes some of it i think, but i could still do most of my stuff on it, although i didnt try a raley or hoochie. ive only rode it once and it was behind the boat, so im looking forward to trying it out on some sliders at teh OWC soon.

i ride the 44. went to that from the parks 38. it deffinately has a different pop. i wouldnt say it has less, pop though, except for raley tricks. u have to olley off the wake like you would on a snowboard or skateboard off a jump. it gives u more of a straight up kick.
