Can anyone recommend a non dedicated wakeboard boat (runabout or deck boat) that is reasonably good for wakeboarding (when adding a tower), but also good for cruising and entertaining?

Thank you.

MB makes a 24 foot deck boat that you may want to check out and it comes with a tower, but i dont know what the wakes like.

I don't want to start another which boat is better thread but whay not just any vdrive boat. I would lthink as long as you got a big one 23 feet or larger there shoudl be planty of room to stretch out for cruising and entertaining. My friends parrents have a vride and the cocktail cruise all the thime on that thing with up to 12 people. They use the table. I really think you should get a wakeboat and modify that for cruising.

I need to make the decision if I should spend 30K on a do it all boat or 20K on a wake board boat and $10 on a pontoon boat. I am REALLY struggling with the decision. I am looking at a 99 Toyota Epic 22 this weekend as a possible wake board boat. I have a Taylor Tower that I can install on it.

I find boat decisions more difficult than anything!

compared to the deck boats, a vdrive cant hang. Deck boats can't hang wake wise with Vs. And being able to fit 12, isn't the same as cruising with 12 deckboat style.

I have to agree with jeff. After all, a pontoon or deck boat is the best boat your friend could have. I'd drop $25K on a wake boat and then get an older $5K pontoon if I needed both.

23' I/O... I have a 20' I/O (9 people max)and the wake has a good shape to it, no roll over at 21.5 mph even with weight in it. My buddies 23' cobalt (13 people)outdoes the ride quality in rough water though but he is still trying to work out his wake shape as he has some rollover.
It realy depends on what your priorites are and the water conditions around you. Wakeboard specific boats around here suc due to the rough conditions all the time. Ive ridden in v-drives, d-drives, I/O's, and larger (26')centerconsole offshore fishing boats.
For the I/O to work you will definitely need to add PP, tower, racks, prop, bags, and stereo. For the cost of these, if the water isnt rough, you might as well just get an older, larger (around 23') wakeboard v-drive.

Mastercraft X45 or X80 or a Malibu 247LSV or if you want to go real big the 25 lsv with dual captins chairs. depends on how much you want to spend. all these boats through massive wakes with room for "entertainment." for a near six figure price......

get a wakeboat and a pontoon boat...especially if you live on the lake and can have them both tied up at the dock. if you try to compromise you'll probably end up with a boat that isn't very good for wakeboarding or cruising.

My dad has an 04 Harris Kayot 220v deck boat. It tubes, skis and cruises great but we have major issues keeping it planed and at the right speed. We also do not have a tower. It feels like we are being pulled down toward the water. Does a tower make that big of a difference? We have yet to talk him into getting a wakeboard boat.
