Wow is right... I think it could have worked with a MUCH longer tow line. I wouldn't try it, but I'll watch..

someone sent me this last week. i think the problem is that they tied the tow rope to the skid on the left side, so the harder the chopper pulled, the more off balance it got. idiots. funny as hell, though.

Just when I begin to think mankind is actually making progress, s$^# like this happens. My jaw dropped when I watched this! Possibly the dumbest stunt I have ever seen! Good thing no other boats were in the way! Would have given the word "chopper" a whole new meaning...

Watch the video again and you will notice something strange. First the motor is up, then down, then up. At first glance, I thought they were putting the motor down to steer when being towed - but the last shot has the motor up. It seems too fast. Not saying it is doctored, just a keen observation

No one ever said you have to be smart to be a pilot. Not directed at you Scott.

I think he should have gotten some practice towing boats first. I hope his new job is going well :-)

Bruce,
Not offended, but there's a difference between being smart and making smart decsions. This guys a moron in both worlds. The decision to pull a boat with a helo is something that is required to have prior planning and approval. Gaurantee that was not a planned operation and that helo isn't rated for it.

Scoot it looked like in the video the pilot nearly puts it in the drink while approaching the boat on the right.
