the cable on my depth alarm is cut. i dont know when or how but it is. does anyone know if sodering it will work or if there is some couplers small enough for it. it looks alot like coax cable but a third of the diameter. i'd just replace the whole thing but the transducer is fiberglassed in the hull under the engine.

I think you'll find it's a little more involved than just splicing it together. It's probably like cable tv cable, only much smaller. I've never heard of anyone being able to put it back together and having it work properly.

i've always read you need a new transducer if you cut the wire. you can put the new one right next to the old one ;)

i've also read that some people use good old silicone instead of epoxy so it can be moved later if needed. i have not tried this.
