It's okay. Lots of competition to find smooth water on the summer weekends. Otherwise it's gorgeous. Cool places to ride, great places to tie up for lunch, and even some great rock / cliff jumps into the water if you're into that.

Camping is far from the water. You'll have to pull the boat out.

Ditto to what J-Rod said. Granite cliffs, great views. Freaking cold water, less than perfect camping. Houseboated on that lake a number of times and it's great for that, plus you'll be be there during the week so it should be a ghost town.

David

Head up toward the two bridges, up the inlet. It's fed by major river (Stanislaus maybe)?

It's gorgeous up there; most beautiful part of the lake imo. Also great riding. It's a long boat ride, but worth it.
