Changed the Oil in my 02 x-star. Used a pump to pump the old stuff out through the drain hose. Definately the way to go, would take for ever to just drip out through that hose, even though I warmed the engine. Question is, after the oil change and one time out on the water, the oil is about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch too high on the dipstick. I'm probably going to hook up my pump to the drain hose and pump out the little extra oil. Or should I not be concerned about that?

You're better to take some out. That might be a pint high but it could be more.
If the level is too high the oil can froth and not lubricate as well. It also loses you a bit of power.

Thanks Art. I just took out about 3/4 of a quart. It's now in operating range. Will just keep some oil in the boat and top it off to the full line gradually so I don't over fill again.
