how come more people aren't doing rear ballast systems like the stock malibu MLS in the ski locker. I don't see why you couldnt just have a Launchpad in each rear compartment and pull water from the drain hole underneath the engine with a Rule pump, tee it off to fill both sides and then have separate Rule drain pumps at the bottom of each bag. Then of course, you would just have to be careful with the plumbing so as to have the water vent overboard when it is done filling.

Any insight into this would be appreciated. I really don't want a bunch of valves, and definitely no relays and more electrical stuff than absolutely necessary.

Also, will an aerator pump (i.e. Rule 1100...etc.) prime and pump properly as long as it is mounted below the waterline in the bilge area, or does it need to be threaded directly into the bottom of the boat and be touching water as in the Ski Locker MLS???

thanks for any help.
