Anyone going to Jones Valley and Silverthorn resorts need to call to see if roads are open. Jones Valley was being evacuated by boats as of 11pm. All roads were shut down and Jones Valley was losing structures. Very large wildfire at the lake. Over 1,000 acres and 54 houses gone.

I heard about that on the news this morning, that is very sad for such a beautiful lake/area. The news reported that they have it under control now. I feel bad for the people who lost their homes and I hope the wildlife are able to escape the area too.

A friend of mine has a house in Silverthorn residences. His wife had to be evacuated by boat and they have not been able to get back in to see how the house is. They have reported 70 structures burned, which is most every structure between Jones Valley and Silverthorne (there aren't than many because it is forest service land which they lease.)

I hope these places are OK - we have spent many a weekend there and this is only one of a couple places houses are on the lake.

Really sucks.

3,000 acres over 70 structures gone. Started by some guy mowing weeds with a mower. Jones Valley has no vehicle access as of now. It's 100 degres with a major haze. Can't see the mountains right now. 40% contained.

I have a cabin at silverthorn homes and everything seems to be OK.

My brother is at our cabin right now. They were evacuated wednesday, then they got back in thursday morning and evacuated again on thursday afternoon, but by 8PM last night they were allowed back in the houses and put on standby evaucation.

No homes in silverthorn homes were lost to the fire (however it did come within about 150 yards of some homes)

The roads into silverthorn were supposed to open this morning.
