Here are a few pics of my new system, let me know what you think. Here are the specs-skylon rubicon 450's on the tower powered by a phoenix gold xenon x200.2, sub is a 10" kicker solobaric L7 powered by a phoenix gold xenon x600.1, cabin speakers are stock kenwood 6.5's powered by an alpine v-power F250 4-channel amp. Power is supplied by 2 blue top optimas under the rear seat. Also one pic of the octo-bong in action, from saturday on the lake Upload

thanks, I do have a question though, I'm trying to come up with a good way to put a vent out of the storage compartment for the sub, it sounds a little muffled until you open the door a little bit. I think a simple vent into the boat would be ideal but I'm not sure what type of material to cover the hole with.

Randall you could use a sub grill to put a "vent" on the side of the storage compartment. That would probably allow the sound to come out cleaner.

Wow, very clean install.

I have the Rubicon 450's as well. I am pushing them with a Rockford Fosgate T-8004 (400W x2 at 2 ohms). That thing takes up my whole wall under the dash (it is 2ft long) How are you running your x200.2?

The rubi's are 3 ohm speakers and I didn't want to deal with the heat of a 1.5 ohm bridged load so I wired them normally on at the amp. I'm also running a line level volume control on the preamp cable, they get LOUD and I wanted to be able to turn them down if we are just hanging out and the girls want dance. I did have to use a very high quality rca cable because it took 40 ft total to get the volume control to the drivers seat with minimal interference.

Interesting, I wouldn't have expected a 200.2 to produce enough wattage to be sufficient for Rubi 450s.

I just got a Zapco 1000x2 to power my Rubicon450s, haven't hooked it up yet.

I talked to skylon and they recommended a PPI a1000/2 and it is only 230 watts rms. the shop I ordered the amps from couldn't get the PPI in time so I went with the phoenix gold instead. They fit my budget alot better anyway. I've got a little under $3000.00 in parts and I did the complete install myself. It sounds great and if I crank the tower speakers all the way up you can't stand on the back of the boat, so I think the 200.2 is doing a good job.

Randall, here's some ideas to cover your vent hole.

Randall -

In the picture of the batteries, where did you get the clear covers on the battery terminals? I have this exact same setup (dual Optima D34 batteries and the Stinger connectors), but they did not come with the covers. I have always been very careful not to put anything conductive even near the batteries in fear that it could arc between the + and - terminals.
