07 X Star...having engine noise, kind of a whine, come through my stereo. Right when I first put it in the water it's not there, but after running for several minutes it starts. Taken it to a stereo shop and they can't recreate the noise hence it has to be running for a while before it begins! Any one else having this problem or had this problem. Thanks in advance.

Have you tried a ground isolator on the amp?

Take a look at the ground loop isolator, and the RCA calbes...

bunch of the 08 models have this problem but it was like from the factory...

some of the new JL amps have a bad internal ground loop causing feedback noise.
