please help decide a boat

ive done alot of searching and narrowed my choices to 4 under 21' boats ,due to garage storage...calabria pro v2..mastercraft x1 or x2...or supra launch 20ssv..im looking at factory wake size, shape, quality, resale, and best all around bot,,,storage isnt an issue seeing that im coming out of a 92 ps190 with 1200 lbs of ballast so i can deal with alot..so what do you think

X1 gets my vote hands down. I absolutely love that boat. Not to bash any of the others, but I love the X1.

Otherwise, the Calabria has a great ballast system.

Can't comment on the others but we have the 20SSV and like it so far.

If you are looking at factory wake size and over all Quality.

You have to with TIGE.

TAPS will beat any factory ballast hand down,
and no pumping dirty lake water into your new $40+K baby.

The deep V is awesome in the chop.

And the best warranty out of them all.

I also think the 20 foot centurion is a nice boat, with a deep V Hull, priced right that gets overlooked quite often.

When you are comparing resale, you also have to consider what the boat cost new. IE.. Will a boat that cost 5k -10K more now bring 5k-10k more down the road?

Here's what I've found in my experience as a boat-shop employee and boat fanatic:

Supras and Calabrias are very comfortable and well-built boats, but Mastercraft takes the cake. The engineering and overall fit-and-finish is impressive. You do get [most of] what you pay for when it comes to mastercraft... just get into every storage area, look at all the wiring, engine compartment, and compare the materials. I don't mean to sound like a salesman, but they are an EXTREMELY refined boat.

As for wake... the X1 will require the least weight to get it pumping out a great wake (narrow beam). The wake shape of the X1 is phenomenal - great ramp that peaks up perfectly. The shape of the X2 is similar to that of the new X-star, but people have not been able to figure out how to get it to throw a BIG wake yet. The wake shape of the Calabria is great as well... very similar to the Pro-V. Properly weighted, the Pro-V2 may throw a larger wake than the X1. Has a nice meaty lip to it. I unfortunately can't comment on the Supra wake, as I've never seen/ridden behind it, but traditionally, these guys make some excellent hulls that just churn out pro-level wakes. All of those boats are going to throw awesome wakes, so pick your poison!

Mastercraft rules the resale department... The demand for Mastercraft boats continues to rise, and the values remain high (which sucks for us used-boat buyers!).

Of the 4 listed, in my opinion, the best all-around boat is the Mastercraft X1. While the rough-water ride in this boat will NOT be fun, it is the most versatile, best built/engineered, best proven boat of the bunch.

Ironically, I used to hate Mastercrafts, because I thought they were underbuilt and used inferior materials (yes, I was a Nautique guy... haha). After having spent a lot of quality time in all of those boats (both in researching for my own purchase and in working on them), I can say that Mastercraft is an extremely fine boat. You would not be disappointed one bit if you decided to go with the Mastercraft.

hey thanks for all the great info guys..me and pops might build a garage door at the inside of my garage to make it go all the way through..in turn...room for bigger boat.so this just put a hold on things for now..well see....thanks

i got to see an launch 20 SSV up close the other day. it was a bad ass little boat, if i was in the market for a boat that size i would give it a good hard look, bigger inside than an X1 and probably new x2 and a bit cheaper but just as plush

I am with Evan on this one!

What a probem to have...all of those are sick boats.
