SMED boards

anyone know anything about these boards? how do they ride for a intermediate rider?

I think that Matt makes a great board. The construction is excellent and have never heard any complaints from those that do ride them. I got to ride one of his Wombat last year during a quick surf sesh with Matt and I liked it. I can't remember what fin setup it had on it, but it had nice speed to it when it you needed it.

Google for his website and you can find some more info there. Matt is a stand up guy and I'm sure he'd more than willing to talk with you about what would work best you

i bought a wombat sight unseen, the board is awesome. Mine has a quad fin design, makes it very easy to pump a couple of times and come back to wake from very far away. The board is "twitchy" but after a couple of rides its one of the funnest boards i have rode. I have ridden:hl broadcast, coex, swell, lf custom thruster, and a few is boards.

If you go to our site, or watch any of our videos, you will see plenty of pictures of RJ on his blue quad SMED. Its a great intermediate board. RJ is now riding on the walker project JWSM which is more of a performance/advanced board. The SMED is great to rip on and get air, but the quad design is stiffer/stabler so harder for spin and real tight tricks like 360s.

One thing I LOVE about the 2 smed wombats I have, is that they were both PU and NOT EPS boards, yet VERY tough and durable. This is definitely a board that will last a long time.

I have a SMED Wombat. I've ridden well over 20 different types of boards... Walker Project, Inland Surfer, Shred Stixx, etc... The Wombat is by far my favorite. A very solid board that would absolutely fit an intermediate rider due to great tracking and the ability to have dual or quad fins. Definitely recommended.
