i just heard from a "reliable source" that copes is done (old news), but they're now liquidating gear, REAL cheap! i know this sounds like advertising, but i'm just sharing a some news to get wake gear really cheap if you haven't done your shopping yet.

Yes, wise_boating is selling the stuff on ebay. Got a 2008 Transcend for $199 and 2008 Zeus bindings for $186 (both included tax and shipping) :-)

Not to mention that wise-boating has shipped everything within 2 days at the most. Awesome work.

you could have bought them cheaper from cope. they're blowing the inventory from all their stores (fairfield, santa clara, reno and rocklin)!

No, he is selling them for Copes.. Now, I guess I could have gone to the store and got them a little bit cheaper yes.

I have to say, if I rode a 142 I'd love to pick up the Hyperlite Sub 6 they're selling in the eBay store. Buy It Now for $299 is a smokin' deal.

ive had a lot of good times there.

hopefully this sale will allow more people to afford the gear so they can get out and shred and get more into wakeskating/boarding.

david, it won't hurt to hit up the seller to see if they have the size that you want.

Is this clearing out the old stuff to make room for the new, or is chapter 11 not working out so well? I hate to see the remaining employees lose their jobs. The ones I know are great guys.

Nick...You are right my friend...With the economy in the drink the fun stuff is the first to be put on the back burner, and when people do decide to shop they would rather save $20 by getting their product online then support their local shop's. As a shop owner I go out of my way to make sure my customer's have the best experience possible when they visit my shop. We also offer the best deal's possible, but for the core shop's to compete with the big online guy's or the big corporate shop's with deep pockets we need the support of our community. Before I started the shop I was the guy in the local shop at least once a week even if I didn't buy anything. I just love the vibe you get from a core shop, and that is why I started mine. I wanted a place were people like me could come hang out watch a video, and get the gear they needed for the sport we all love so much. It is such a bummer seeing all these shop's go belly up because people want to save a couple buck's. Believe me I know the value of a dollar these day's, but I would always support my local shop if they had what I needed before shopping online, or at a big corporate store, and I bet any of your local shop's will price match or get as close as they can to earn your business. We are the one's who support the local grass roots events, and strive to grow this industry not the guys that are all about the dollar. I didnt start my store to get rich, I started it to offer a core shop were people could come hang out feel at home, and offer awesome product at the best price possible to the community.

Just my 2cents....

Shon.. What up brotha.

The sad part is that most people don't realize how much they'll miss their local shop until it's gone. I've gotta admit that I'm a bit of an online whore these days. It's so easy to sit in front of the computer, then have it shipped to your door step. There are certain things, though, that I would never buy online. Really anything that I'd potentially have a warranty issue with or wanted some direct input from knowledgable individuals about. The guys that I can't stand are the ones that demo from their local shop, then go and buy online. Like you said, the local shops will usually do what they can to price match, but most people don't ever ask. People also forget about the cost of shipping being figured to the equation.

Times are tough, guys. Support your local board shop.

If you forget something on the way to the lake or river, you can't just pop open a computer and have it immediately. If local shops close down say goodbye to emergency items that are needed!

I stopped by the Fairfield store today. I have to say it's one of the nicest shops I've been in.

They have some GREAT deals right now.

I hope all you guys that work/worked there land on your feet.

I stopped by Reno's Copes and there was a sign on the door, closing Dec 19, 2008 forever, guess I missed the liquidation. This sucks because now my options for gear are slim and I will be paying full retail. Unless I find it on the web, but then I have to wait for it!

It is hard to try on a pair of bindings or demo a board online

My wife just picked me up a new Oniell Dry suit for $180 from the Rocklin store. I haven't seen it yet, but I can't wait to get home from work tonight so that I can try it on. I haven't ridden in over a month since I tore the seals on my old one.

Anyone in the Sacramento/Delta area looking to ride after the holidays?

are you guys gonna be open in Fairflield on xmas eve? I honestly havent bought any new wake gear at all this year, but have bought a roam, byerly, watson, and a wakeskate from fairfield in the last couple years as well as a few other wake goodies...I agree that I just liked going in there and browsing every few months to check out stuff i may be saving up for. It sucks that you guys have to shut your doors, since I live in Sac now I guess I will have to start shopping at off axis.

...and to be honest, I hate buying oonline due to the wait factor...Im very impatient...I bought a slingshot last year online cuz I couldnt find em in stores, and waiting 2 weeks just drove me insane! Also everytime i have had a warranty issue Fairfield hooked me up, I broke some watsons and they exchanged em outright no questions asked...I broke a handle twice and they took care of the warranty and shipping with CWB...good customer service...

nick, head over to the rocklin shop and ask for anthony. if you've been to the fairfield shop the last couple years, odds are, he was the one that hooked you up!

Jeff - I'm pretty sure they are closed for the holidays from 12/25-1/5.

There are many stores in the Sacramento area. Off-Axis is great and a great bunch of people. Then there is Water Ski World in Citrus Heights and Rocklin Water Sports in Rocklin. Then there is Surf N Skate (but expect to spend MSRP on their stuff) in Elk Grove, Citrus Heights, and Roseville.

Fairfield's done?? I actually didn't realize Ultimate watersports was a division of Cope. Or is it?? I'm lost. Theres tons of watersports stores in the area but if I needed something I would always go to Ultimate.

40%-50% off everything. I just got a Ronix Volt handle for 50% off and a Ronix rope for 40% off. Both out the door for $123. DVD's are $10.

I called the Rocklin store but they were closing before I could make it there. Think they will re-open after the New year?

seems like even at clearances the prices arent really mind blowing. so much for the economy its the same everywhere. mediocre sales arent going to spur the economy.

ya they are still givin away little bits of stuff. but for you guys thinkin after copes is gone there will be no more boardshops think again. im not gonna be too specific or give anything away here just yet, im going to leave that to the man himself to do the unvailing BUT, shortly after copes closes the doors for good around the end of this month, there will be a boardshop opening up early early march near where the old copes is. the name of it is "****** **********" hahaha i cant give out the name or anything but they will be carrying RONIX, LIQUID FORCE, HYPERLITE, and ONEILL not to mention that INTEGRITY WAKESKATES will possibly be helpin out. trust me if any of you know the boardshop manager down at the santa clara copes store, then this store will help you out as much if not more than he did himself. he is a really good friend of mine and im helping him set things up for the grand opening. more updates soon......maybe ahahahhahahahahaha :-)

I went into Copes in San Jose earlier this week, and as near as I could tell, they had the same prices for the same boards that they had last January
