this kind of thing where the wife gets more than half plus future earnings really gets my goat!

I'm not a fan of the assumption that the wife gets the house in a non celebrity divorce either.

Rumor is that their divorce was a sham anyway. They divorced and moved the majority of the money into her name to shelter it from the wrongful death suit expected from their sons car wreck.

I haven't heard that, but it would make sense. I thought his ex was banging some teenager?

I read this, too. Keep in mind they were married for 26 yrs. He doesn't have to pay alimony, which I think is why she got more than half. So I guess after splitting things, would you rather give another 25% of everything up front or have to pay alimony for who knows how many years to come?
