Just got home and opened the mail. I got a card from Paradise Marine(local Malibu dealer). So I'm thinking that it's a thank you card or a promo or something.... I wish.

The card reads (paraphrasing): Sorry to inform you that your salesperson has passed away last week.

WHAT?!?!?

First of all, the guy is only in his late 30's (?). Secondly, he was just about the most professional, courteous, easy going sales guy I ever met. In the short amount of time I got to spend with the guy, I could tell he was just a great guy/dad/etc.

Anyway, we all lost a great guy that meant alot to the industry.... he will be missed by many I'm sure.

Bart Baker passed away 5/21/2006.

Wow!!!

That is too bad. I was working with him and chris when I was looking to buy a new boat this year. I did not know him personnaly but he was very professional and knew his stuff when I was picking his brain.
RIP.

I heard about Bart's passing last week. Very sad. He sold me my Bu, and is one of the nicest guys I know. There is some info on the Canyon Lake web page, and on this link.

Rest in peace Bart.

I got the same bad news today after the drive home from Parker.

He was a great person and just a blast to hang out and talk to. One of the nicest, most professional people you could come across in this industry.

He will be missed.

God Speed.
