Which tower? There are a few different ones. I assume you probably mean the Illusion. If you are mounting on the round crossbar, you have more choices, but they may be in the way of your head. Maybe look at specific ones made for the Illusion. They mount way off to the side.

I assume you're talking about the Illusion X tower. If so, then yes, you can mount on that cross bar. Depending on what you want to spend you have tons of different options.

Zack you can either mount speakers made specifically for the Illusion tower stock mounts like Skylon Rubicons 150's or Titan Alphas or Boss Spektrum speakers or go with a Wetsounds or NVS setup and mount them to the round tow bar which I believe is 2 inch. Go to Wetsounds.com or Wakeside.com or nvs1.net

Jarret,

I love that set-up for the Illusion. Very clean, and out of the way.

What do you think of the standard pods that come with the boat on the illusion x tower? The cans and the kicker speakers run $1400. Are they worth the money or should I go custom?

Rick-there not $1400 nice. I would go aftermarket on the speakers and you'll be much happier

can i place after market in the cans? If so What do you recommend?

You could but what I meant was dont go with the stock tower setup. Go with Wetsounds, NVS, Skylon etc. No need to pay $1400 and then turn around and spend more money on replacement speakers.

It is too late. I already bought them and need to replace the kickers in the cans. The pods are $1200-the speakers in the cans were-kicker 6 1/2 DS. Any recommendations! The size is 6/12. Please help!

Oops Sorry ! I thought you were purchasing. Have you heard the Kickers yet ?

Gotcha ! Is it the SPL or SQL you dont like ? Im assuming its the volume. The Kickers are rated at 90db and 50w RMS so look for a 6 1/2 speaker in the 92-95db range that can handle more power. The Polk DB series are 92db and sound really good . Unfortantly your kinda stuck with a car audio setup at this point and while you can make it sound really good around your boat, you might have a tough time getting the sound out to the rider.

Run the kickers overpowered until they smoke then replace with Polks, Pioneers, or Infinitys. You can get a bit more out of them if you run them with a highpass crossover set around 200hz.
