Wax rope packing for Barefoot

We own a Barefoot Nautique 1988 (2001 model) and have changed the wax impregnated rope packing for the driveshaft. This was no problem and worked out fine.
But now we founded out that the rudder is also leaking water and that we have to change the rope packing. Is this the same rope packing as the driveshaft? Because I still have a feet of that packing. I didn't opened it yet, to look it by myself, I first want your suggestions!
