ARGH! I was out boarding this weekend. Been learning Tantrums lately and coming SUPER close to landing them and even landing a couple, but haven't ridden away from any yet. So i was out riding around this weekend behind a friend's Sunbird, with no pole or anything, just doing it oldschool. Having some fun, so they told me to try and trantrum, so i went for it.

The wake is next to nothing too, for the record. So i go out nice and wide, then cut in smooth, progressing towards the wake, then hit it nicely...to be honest, i think it was one of my nicest ones actually...just felt really smooth, got some decent pop off my 6 inch wake , then landed it...unfortunately, my landing wasn't quite as smooth as I hoped for it to be...see...my lead leg (left) was straight when i landed...i heard a pop as i let go of the rope and then started to freak b/c i knew what that meant...sure it hurt, but not too bad actually, but it was the sound that I knew what had happened.

My buddies dragged me up into the boat and we took off to the dock. We got the board off without any more pain luckily and then i hopped out of the boat and lied down on the dock. So they had to pull the boat out, but then some other friends of ours, they were calling for help, so my buddies went out and towed them, while i lay there on the dock in pain...after what seemed like FOREVER, we got their boat towed in and got our boat out of the water, they came back and picked me up to take me to the hospital. Which by the way is in the middle of NOWHERE...a next to deserted island is where we were boarding. Great spot too btw. So i went there, all they could tell me is that there is nothing wrong iwth the bone that they could feel, but i had xrays anyway and it seems like the bones are fine, but they weren't sure if it was an ACL or MCL problem, so now i have to see a knee specialist (but it's a holiday today) and just pray that it's not a complete tear. I REALLY don't want to have to have surgery, but i guess my season is done now...Just thought i would post to add to the list.

Lesson learned: don't have legs straight on landing...
