He's across the pond.. I would say whatever has cheaper parts and easier service man. Their both gonna be mackin wakes. I think the masses will say MC but in the end if it never runs cuz u cant get it serviced it never runs. Same for the moomba though :-/ do your research locally.

X1 is my choice

the moomba lsv and xlv are the only two models that can rival an x1 the outback v isnt moombas best IMO

X1 all day... it puts out a sick wake with stock ballast but you may want more... It also has a nice a consistent shape with stock ballast.. if you add more ballast the wake is still the same shape as it was stock but bigger

Have you thought about Axis? I would put them into the running as well since it falls into the same price-point as moomba. Your hard earned dollar could end up going much further with Axis. You owe it to yourself to explore everything the boating world has to offer.

dude are you joking?. it's getting old man. he is asking about a moomba or x 1. not a stupid axis. your not helping axis in any way by trying to force your point.

He is asking "our" opinion on which boat he should buy. I am suggesting he educates himself as a buyer so he doesn't start a post next year saying he wish he wouldn't have bought such and such boat and wishes he would have looked at something else.

Axis is a new boat line and is worth taking a look at. I'm not forcing a point, only giving my $.02. Smile dude, summer is on its way!

You will NEVER go wrong with an X-1..unless your into fishing or boat jumping...it'll pick up both dudes and chicks pretty easy though...depending on what you're looking.

Butch

Look at this from the moomba website. It is not bias towards their boat either. Its mainly comparisons for size, weight, wake shape, and so on. Hope this helps. I owned a 98 Moomba Outback and it was on OK boat. I now have a 2003 Supra which I really like. I know there are other boats that are nicer like my cousins malibu wakesetter but thats not in my budget.

I hate it when the mags. post the "wake" shots. Especially when it is from the front looking back. They almost all look exactly the same. Those weren't to bad because it was more from the riders perspective, but still, you can't tell until you get back there.

X1... Still one of the sickest wakes ever.

Moomba's throw out a nice wake. The X1 throws out... well, I own one so I won't say it, but search how people historically feel about the 205V and you'll probably have your answer.

I was in the same position as you in June 2006 and I would've regretted any other decision. Get the X1 unless you can pick up a new moomba for 10K pounds less.

x-1 wake is not good stock, but when you add weight it will be one of the best around. The Moomba will have a better stock wake, but not a better loaded weight if that makes sense. Also, the moomba will have much more room than x-1. Last but certainly not least the Moomba will ride much better in chop. People don't put a lot of stock into that factor until after they make a purchase. I know I didn't when I bought an x-1. It is a very rough ride compared to the newer hulls of wakeboard boats.

i'll have to go ahead and disagree on "x-1 wake is not good stock". i have had a lot of riders use it only stock and they say it is great. if you are comparing the X1 stock wake to the X1 slammed wake, then yes, it might not be good.

Compare this 20’ V-Drive boat to say the MasterCraft X1 in terms of size, construction and performance….but not in price…so how can it be done? Well here are some of the reasons…

1) We don’t stock boats – they are all built to order – therefore we don’t pay interest on stock boats

2) Therefore, we don’t need a big showroom.

3) Moomba don’t do big boat show displays

4) Moomba don’t do big magazine advertising campaigns

Because we don’t carry these huge costs, we don’t pass them on to our customers, and that means you can order a brand new ski/wakeboard boat hand built to the highest standards (ask us all about this) and save thousands of pounds compared with other boats with similar credentials.

i think he is saying they are compearing the outback v to x1 that is what the advert says.i looked at the outback v in ireland and decided to look for 07 or 08 x1 or even x14 and by the way this is an ex mastercraft dealer

Looks like Moomba just keeps stepping it up. I cant answer your question nor will i try to. More and more people seem to love there boats. I like the looks of the new moomba hull but also like the X1. Either one will be great i am sure. You need to look at both in person and then you post pictures of the one you buy.

scotts point, he is in the UK, so what is easiest to service/get parts for.

i'd agree with ironj32, stock wake is plenty for beginner to intermediate. add some sacs and its ridiculous. nothing against moomba.

i'd also tend to agree though that if you're buying NEW it makes the most sense to buy from the better dealer. or if it's used, find a good mechanic who can get parts and that you trust.

where do you folks ride in ireland? post up some pics!

Well here are some of the reasons they .write about construction is this as good as mastercraft if so why do moomba not push this
x1 is about £48000.00 or $70000.00 there is about £13000.00 or $18500.00 diference and both dealers are good and about 100 miles from where i live
