Sick looking boat. If the wake is up to par with the old X-2 then MC has another hit on their hands.

Still not too sure about the graphics, but I love the look of the boat. If the wake is up to par I think I'll have to trade the '05 up to that in the next two years or so.

I think I am looking at my next boat -- assuming the wake is as is should be. Maybe I will wait 1 year too -- for them to get their kinks out.

That was the baby at the Knoxville INT. It was a good looking wake as well. I was pretty happy watch guys ride behind it, it's one of the only MC's I'm fond of. GO VOLS!! (Message edited by loudontn on August 08, 2005)

Is the nose less sloped downward than on the xstar? It kind of looks like it is less sloped.

Gotta say that I love the 04 X-2 but IMO I think that pickle fork makes it look much smaller. Maybe it is the angle of the pic but look at the girls legs.......just seems smaller......does anyone know if the bow area changed?......just curious

Seems like it wouldnt look so small if the windshied wasnt so big. Is that the windshield off the xstar? Anyway cant wait to see it in person, way to go MC.

the swim platform is huge!!! I think the large window, and swim deck make the cockpit look smaller than it is. If you look side by side it's bigger inside for sure. The bow is deceiving because it is wider than it is long but I'm willing to bet it's easily more roomy than the current X-2. By the way the mirror looks like a bug antenna or something. All in all a welcome addition to the MC lineup for sure.

I think it looks pretty interesting. I definetly like the 'less is more' graphics, but some of you are right, the nose looks pretty short. I hope the wake is up to par.

with the transom v'ed seems like it will get trashed/ scratched very easily if not protected. Also, seems to have more interior room than old X-2. I like!

In the two pictures above, check out the difference in the length of the swim platform. It looks a foot shorter at least on the new model. Thats a huge plus in my opinion. I dont know about the V in the back, but then again there is only one area you should need to protect from the board in lieu of the entire width. I think it looks great.

On the Team Mastercraft website it says 20'0" which would make it slightly shorter than the current X2, but it has a 94" beam which I think makes it a little wider. That carries a little more width in the bow with the pickle fork. Very nice indeed...trying to get the wife on board to switching to "the darkside"! Any ideas on Price yet? Eric

Good comparison w/ the 05/06 above. That really shows the extra room in the cab. But it does look squat though. Still out of my price range.

I have to say that the aerial shot looks funny. It makes the boat look like a brick, short and fat. I would still stick to the x-1 (old x-2).

The cabin looks a lot larger. My only NIT on the old X2 was the cramped cabin. On the new X2, the cabin looks much bigger (wider and longer) while the sunpad looks small (who cares; nice trade!). I will take this FORM for the greater FUNCTION!

In this picture the guy behind the driver has his leg straight out behind the drivers seat. I remember a lot less room between the drivers seat and the back seat in today's X2. I dig it. They optimized what is most important.

im not worried about the wake at all if it is not big which i doubt ill make it big and plumb my own system in, but ill drive one for sure b4 i make up my mind totally. im more interested to see the fit and finish and see if there is gonna be any trouble areas that they need to work the bugs out of. i wonder if the ballast is underneath the floor in it???

Actually it is two full feet shorter than the X-star it just has the same Pickle fork front. Also it is narrower than it's big brother. If the wake is like the old x-2 or new x-1 then this boat will be sold out nation wide. As far as price I do not think this will sell anywhere near the high 40s. I have a feeling the x-1 is going to be like the v-ride in that it starts out cheap but as you option it out it will run into the mid40s and that the x-2 is going to pushing into the mid50s.

What do you think the dimensions of the boat going to be? If it's going to be the x-star hull it would be about 22'6". I've heard the X-1 will be 21'. Just curious about length and beam.

Its the size of the current X2 with much more room. And, the current X2 is/was a great boat. I think MC should call this boat XSTAR because it is going to be the best boat on the market. It will easily have a better wake than the current XSTAR because its smaller. They should name this boat the XSTAR/21 and current XSTAR the XSTAR/23. If the wake is not too rampy, CC and BU are going to suffer.

MC used the same trick that BU used on the 2005 VLX to significantly increase the rear seating area. It's simple, just shorten the rear storage by 12-15 inches, and extend the seating by the same amount. If the wake is equal to the current X2, the new X2 will definitely be my new boat.

I called my MC dealer yesterday to see what they could tell me. Basically that was not much! He verified the length but not the price. It is sounding like high 40's depending on options. Also, no timetable yet for delivery. Guess I'll have to go to the Double Up del Noche to get my fix!

With a 20' length, doesn't this have Canyon Lake written all over it? Looks like there's some good under-seat storage. That cushion under Zane's foot would be a great place for a good cooler since most of the time people won't be sitting on it. Mine's under the observer seat so someone's always getting moved so we can get out drinks. Nice twins, too.

For years we have had a virtual tie in "best" wakeboard boats between CC/MC/BU. Each of these companies have had good to great boats (SAN/X2/VLX) with a few deficiencies here and there. IMO, this new X2 could put MC above all. This boat could easily be better than all the rest. I can't wait to learn more about the wake, the built in ballast, and the price.
