sorry guys i know we have been hammering away at stereo questions lately. ive searched this board and caraudioforum but cant seem to turn up any dirt on the orion amps. i cant afford a mcintosh or zapco so ive narrowed it down to two amps. im looking at the orion 8002 and the fosgate 8002 to power my boss 530's. the orion is about $300 bucks and the fosgate 350 which comes with a wired remote(which i have no need for). i saw the orion power rating is a 13.8 volts fosgate doesnt say. im inclined to go with the orion just because its 50 bucks cheaper but if you guys think the fosgate is in some way superior id be more than happy to shell out the extra 50 bucks. thanks

orion is definately superior to fosgate!! cleaner power /true watts! only problems i've had with orion is connection troubles due to vibrations. good mounting and secured connections are a must!

On the orion Amp's I use (XTR 2400's) the power and ground's are very close to each other. It would be very easy to have the power touch the ground when the wire is curved, to fix this is soder the ends of the power and grounds to make sure they dont frey. Here are some examples.
The blue wire has been soderd you can see it is more solid
