After getting the older version of the '07 Factions, I found that the hinge would pop out on me anytime I tried to grab or even when I leaned too hard heelside. I searched the wakeworld forums and followed some advice on tightening the hinge cables. Did this... still no luck... my ankle would pull back far enough to click the hinge out (just as one would pull the hinge intentionally). I finally called CWB and they're sending me some sort of part to fix this. I'm curious, has anyone else on here gone this route, and if so, what sort of fix is this, and how effective is it in alleviating this issue?

Thanks!

Yes, the plastic supports they are sending you will do the trick. Once installed they will prevent your ankle/lower leg from leaning back and popping open the hinge. I've been riding mine with this fix for 9 months or so and my hinges have not popped open once!

An added benefit to adding this piece is the added ankle support they provide.

yea, I had the same problem with my first pair of factions. CWB sent me the same peice and it worked perfectly. It stiffens them up a little more too.
