I need to give my boat a good waxing and looking at a few options. Can the standard car waxes like Turtle Was or Mequires (sp) be used on the gel coats?

I used The wax shop super glaze on my sanger the whole time I had it. Theres pics of my boat that just sold in the used boat over 5 years section. Love it, its easy to apply and no streaking

I use Frenze..its a carnuba based wax/cleaner wax that works great! I put it on by hand, and orbidal buff it off for a good shine.
I used Meguiars Flagship a couple of times and it just wasn't as good.

How often do you guys do the full wax? I use Babe's Boat Bright after every day on the water, but is a more complete waxing good to do every now and then?

I like using one of the cheap 6" orbitals from Wal-mart to apply my Meguiars. It takes a lot of the torture out of the process, one because you arn't working your arm as much, and two, because it makes it able to spread the wax over a larger area. Your excess layer won't be as thick making it a lot easier to wipe off.

I was told to avoid carnuba wax or any wax used on cars. Has to do with gel coat vs plastic and metal paint. Maybe someone can elaborate just forgot the reason so I use Meguires flag ship

What about liquid glass? It says you can use it on gelcoat! I want to try it but have not yet! I have heard great things about the product on corvettes and other cars.

liquid glass is a quality product. I use Zaino and it is second to none in longevity and shine.

I use Meguiars Flagship boat wax it's the best fiberglass wax I have ever used.(I've owned boats for 30 years). Plus it smells good.

I dont think there is anything wrong with a carnuba wax. I bought my wax from the dealer it is a carnuba wax. I read the bottle on Mastercrafts wax and it is a carnuba wax.
