Had my first experience with the knee to face scenario today. I know it's a common injury for TS fronts and maybe a couple others. This one was from a Heel 5. Same trick I wrecked my ankle on about 6 weeks ago. If it injures you more times then you land it, maybe ya ought to let it go!

Doctor said it was very close to the bone. 10 stitches total. Worst part: It happened on the first set of the first day of a 3-day weekend.

jrod, did the doctor prescribe no more heel 5's?

If you would have shaved, maybe the board would have slid right off of your chin. JK. That looks painful dude. Hope the rest of your weekend works out better. At least your a sport and posted it.

Dang, J-rod talk about earning that trick. You need to get back out on the water and kick that tricks ass. Hope ya heal up soon. I will see ya out there again in about 10 days.

J-Rod, if you keep getting scars like that you're not going to get any more boats full of chicks flashing their funbags.

Heal up quick and get out there.

haha funny post name.... on a HS 3 attempt I over rotated and my top front tooth broke right in half into my knee... tooth part was kinda funny but the gash in my knee was right in the part of the knee that didnt allow me to bend it for like a month.... not cool!

Ouch! Great stories.

Paul and Benny: I don't think anything is worse then loosing teeth. I broke off both of my front teeth when I was a kid.

Kev: I wasn't man enough for the landing. I landed it way out in the flats and I couldn't hold it together. I had too much weight on the nose of the board and it stopped when I landed.

Good news though. I felt good enough to ride the next day and again today.

Rene: I thought chicks dig scars. No?

Ha, ha, J-Rod was riding the next day. Pretty sure that wasn't what the doctor ordered, but what do they know anyway????

It was a huge 5 that should've been landed, but J-Rod pretty much buckled on the landing. Very similar to the last one he f-ed up his ankle on. I suggested taking it a bit smaller next time, but I just don't see that happening.

Aw, Rene... Chicks do dig scars. We like bad boys.

J-Rod, sorry to hear about the injury, but it sounds like it hasn't slowed you down.

Hope to ride with you guys again sometime.

J-Rod,
Don't hurt yourself before your trip to the east coast in November, you better be 100% when you get here, I won't take any excuses.

Craig, We were just discussing trying to stay healthy for the next couple of months. If I go to Florida injured I'll be pissed.

J-Rod,
Dude, you are charging for that elusive HS5! I feel ya on that one - been "THIS close" for years. Glad you got away with just stitches - first time I went knee to chin I broke my jaw in two places, second time a couple years later I broke 6 teeth (in the middle of my run up at a Bel Aqua tourney). I got some of those 99 cent football mouthguards, which work great and give you the bling gold fronts look, but after a while I get lazy and quit wearing them.
Hope the new boat is treating you well. It's been my most piss-poor year ever for riding, but I know we ride with many of the same folks, so I expect eventually we'll cross paths. Get that 5 dialed in so you can help me out with it.

"NICE", The second time dosen't hurt as bad...

Sweet, drilled my chin last night. Luckily I don't have any pictures of carnage today. I just have a nice lump and a really sore neck. Somehow I connected in further than the chin.

After the stars cleared I checked to make sure all my teeth were still there and then asked Allen if I was bleeding. Nope, check, OK.

The fiance would've killed me if I split my chin open again. We've got engagement pictures this weekend. What would a smart guy do?.... I say, go ride again thursday.

oh yeah, and I still dig the Marius. I just wasn't feeling the steezo on tuesday night. Got my shizo handed to me on more than a few occasions. I'm gonna go back to the trusty Absolute tonight and see if I can show that wake who's boss.

J-Rod I just did the same thing on a 3 a few weeks ago. 2 internal and 5 external stiches. Had them in for a week and went riding the day after I got them out.

Ages ago I kneed myself in face on an indy tantrum. I had braces at the time and my bottom lip got all wound in my upper brace. Couldn't open my mouth, my friends thought it was pretty funny. Had to cut the lip out and have stitches. It was pretty funny.
