Wondering what brand/type of prop to get for my boat. I think a 4 blade 19 pitch would be the best for my setup, but wondering if there is much difference between brands?

Something like this Solas?

or this one:

Or I was looking at this PT prop:

Anybody have any ideas?

The boat is a 2005 Maxum I/O, Mercruiser Alpha I 3.0L. It actually pulls pretty good now and has a decent wake, good enough for us beginners.

Thanks!

What's it have now? How close to redline does the motor turn at wide open throttle? Generally you can step down 2" in prop pitch but watch the RPM's...

It has a 14.25 x 21 pitch 3 blade prop now... it goes close to redline now at wot but I rarely run the boat that fast anyways. I'll just have to be careful.

The holeshot is really good now, better than i thought, I just want it to be better so I can maybe add some ballast or at leave have more people on the boat.

Stuey, Have you talked to Acme props? They are the best in my opinion and there customer service is great in helping you pick a prop.

Since it's an I/O you might also want to consider a torque shift, but I have no experience with these.

I did talk to acme first, but they do not make props for I/O. I read about their great service on here but I will have to wait until I upgrade my boat before I can buy from them!

Well both auctions have ended but the sellers have more.. the two on Ebay both sold for $280ish, the PT prop is $475. Is there a difference in brand or quality, worth spending another $200 on the PT?
