Wakes Sanger VS Session

has anyone out there ridden behind a Sanger and a session? I'm curious how the wakes compare. I have someone asking me but I have never ridden behind a session.

I have heard good things about Session, but Sanger is a great boat.

Some guy posted pics of the Diesel Session. The wake was huge with just stock ballast.

Jason,

The session has a great shaped wake, very solid, and a good mix of rampy/lip. With the stock 1050 lbs of ballast it produces a pretty big wake, and it just gets bigger with additional weight. I posted some pics of the Diesel with no ballast, and it was pretty huge. I'm not on my computer, but I'll try and find the pics later today.

I can't find those diesel pics on my comp anywhere, do a seach for session diesel, you should find it. I don't have a whale tail, just ballast. Session got rid of the whale tail because they didn't think it justified the cost. So its not an option in '06

I have not ever ridden behind a Sanger. For years I have heard Sanger is the best bang for the buck, but that was when Session had no presence in the industry. Either way you go you will love your boat, I just know that I am very impressed with the quality/wake of the Session line

Jason, I absolutely love the Sanger boats and their wakes and think they are the best bang for the buck around (although I've been hearing good things about a few of the Moomba's). That said, I was talking to one of the worlds top pro's confidentially and he told me that he thought the Session wake was either his favorite or sencond runner up. BTW he doesn't ride for Session. I take his opinion pretty seriously, but question the resale value of the Sessions. Just my opinion, but I'd go for a Sanger.

Let start by saying, both are great boats. I need to also say, while I am a very experienced boater and waterskier, I am an average wakeboarder, so your not getting a pros opinion. I was gonna buy a 215V last summer, and bought a Session 22Si only because of an outragously smoking deal. Now that I have the Session I love it, great boat.

I have spent alot of time behind a v210, but only a little behind the v215. The Session has more lip, it seems slightly firmer. Size wise, the Session is a bigger wake, either weighted or unweighted, but not any major diffrence. IMO, the Session is a better, high end wake. The Sanger is a little more user friendly, and easier on lower skill levels when unweighted. The Session seems to roll pretty big with little weight.

Some guys that have been out on my boat compare the wake to the latest generation XStar, but I have never been behind a new XStar. The Session wake is completly diffrent from my old Malibu (97 response), the Malibu was wider, and steeper. I have spent alot of time behind the X2/205V/old XStar, and the Session is diffrent, but I really can't put my finger on why.

Big Ed my be able to provide input, he's been on my boat (but only about 500LBS). He owns an X2, and I'm sure has boarded behind plenty on Sangers.

The wake on the Session get monsterous at about 2000LBS. I still haven't figured mine out completly, still working on weight placement.

Anyone ever wanna go out for a spin in mine, hit me up. I live a mile from Orwoods. Injury will keep my off a board all year, but I will be looking for some people to go out with for some water time.

Thanks, I have ridden behind just about all ths Sanger models, and they are a great wake, I was asked what I knew about Session, and I had no clue. Thanks for the input.

Evan we can hook up this summer. I'm not riding this season, but would love to get out. I can drive. or just be 185 LBS of ballast.

the bad part about my boat, and probably why it was such a great deal, is it did not have a ballast. I do have 1000 LBS of POP bags. Some are already placed under the floor. I was gonna rig up a ballast system(and finish my stereo)this winter, but this injury will have me layed up for a while.

Maybe the C.I.E. crew can pimp my wake, and have it ready for me when I recover.

I got to ride behind a Sessions last year and was blown away buy the wake with about 1500lbs of ballast. For shure one of the better wakes on the market. I would love to get behind one with about 2000 lbs of ballast, it would throw a siiiick wake.

I've had 2000+, but I'm really not prop'd for it. It was huge, but I didn't really get a good pull in. I think 2500 and a 14x14 prop, ready to rock.

My skill set only requires about 1000lbs of ballast, but since I'm watching/driving this year let's slam it

All factory, the main cover is rolled foward, and the bimini wasn't all the way out. I just took a quick pic when I first got it last summer.

Jeff, did you happen to pick up your Session out of Oakland? I actually went and looked at them in July 05 and they were hard boats to track down.. Ended up going with a Centurion only because I couldn't find any reviews (other then the manufactures) anywhere...Glad to hear your happy with it.....buddy of mine has been debating on getting one...

I haven't personaly ridden behind a Session but the wake with factory ballast and 6-7 ppl wasn't even close to a Sanger V210. Sanger looked much fatter and steeper. I have ridden and sat in a v210 many times and am basing my comparison on that. The Session looked very mellow and rampy and was described that way by several riders.

The 210 has a ramp like a supra then a pop at the top like a SAN. My personal experiance take it for what it is

The Session is a big boat, almost 4000lbs, and over 22 feet long. It needs ALOT more than the stock 1000 LBS ballast.

The boat at the AWA actually only had the 3 tank ballast at 920 lbs, like jeff said... it is going to take more than that. The 4 tank ballast at 1050 does pretty well, but i'd go even more.

My question is: why did they pull outlaw with the Session when the Epic was on hand?

The Diesel is nothing like everyone thinks. It is unlike the really smokey stinky diesel pickups. When I rode it I honestly couldn't tell a difference in the sound or amount of exhaust. When I was in the boat there was an obvious difference in sound, but not in noise level ( so in other words, i could tell it was a diesel but it was no louder than a petro engine)

Bill I don't know about dealers in TX. But prices are as follows.
S1- 39K
S2- 46K

X1- 41K
X2- 47K

Use these prices only as an average, price could vary depending on where you get it from.

(The "1" package is your basic boat with very few accessories. All Sessions come with Tower, stereo, ballast, and Perfect Pass Wakeboard Pro. The "2" package includes everything the average wakeboarder would get on their boat. The "3" Package includes basically every option that session offers)
