I went out my second time behind my brand new Tige z1 and gave it a go surfing again. I will have to post pictures for anyone to believe me but we had a surfer on both sides of the wake getting a sweet spot on both sides to surf at the same time. This was the aaahhhha moment when i know that i got the right one...

BTW does anyone know of any new surf board coming out this year? (i like the slow boyant ones.)

i would love to see those pics. i heard tige was advertising this very boat being able to do that very thing with absolutely no ballast whatsoever. let's just say i'm pretty skeptical.

were you using any ballast?

You mean like this? This is our '06 23V - it's doable, but certainly nothing to write home about. I'd love to see an unballasted Tige with a decent wake.

Very Nice Pic! I will have my husband download the pics. He is the photographer of the family. We didn't have ballast in the boat but lots of friends. I think that there was about 6 or 7 piled along with a full tank.

Finally got in the Z1 today, dodging a couple of storms. Took a few surf pics.

First one is unweighted: 10.8mph, TAPS on 6

2nd is the factory port aft tank (about 300#'s) and a 400# sac on top, plus the bow sac. About 1k total. 11.4mph, TAPS on 4

My friend's MC 209 direct drive had a great surf wake with no ballast. I've seen surfers on both sides at the same time behind it. Add weight and it just gets better.
