It rained the other day, so I pulled the center plug on my 2000 X-Star, but didn't bother to re-cover the cut-out in the floor with the round plastic thingy. It's a pretty short trip from my apartment to the lake, and I didn't feel like climbing in the boat, so I drove to the lake today with the plastic thing loose. Big surprise, it's gone when I get to the ramp.

My question is, what is the technical name for the round, plastic screw-out thingy? I want to do a search for where I can buy one. Or, at the very least, ask my dealer for one without sounding like a complete moron. Thanks guys.

Thanks Tim. Mine is a little over 6.25", but I'm going to assume they are universal, and I am just measuring from a different place.

The black one is exactly what I'm looking for, but the white ones are something totally different. For only $10, I'll take my chances.

I got a white trim with a clear cover.I like it a lot better then the black one,it goes with the interior better and you can see thru it,well kind of.plus it doesn't get super hot in the sun.

Ed, did you get it through Overton's? Did you have to screw in the "base" or did the cover already fit in the existing threads?

I got it from west marine and it came with the white base($10-$15).....I had the black one but the white one looks so much better so I changed it but it was exactly the same.I believe they are universal.

Do you remember the what category it was under? Or what it was called?

Yep, I'm an idiot too! I routinely fling my deck plate thingy behind my drivers seat for the 5 mile tow home. I guess I've been lucky.

I think that the technical term is black cover thingy that covers the center drain plug. that's what I always call it.
