Fans are something I am considering installing before the season starts. I have it figured out how I am going to intake and exhaust. But I am looking for some feedback as to how much they really do help. There was a recent thread that discussed them and some said that they still open the door to the passenger storage area. One person said he's never had to use them.

So, has anyone noticed a benefit from it? Or do you still have to open the storage area? It's a small project to do, but still a project and need to weigh the benefits of it.

to really use fans you have to design a amp board/box/rack that uses convection cooling...

Others on here have not done that. They have installed an intake fan and an exhaust fan. And used the storage compartment as the cooling box.

Myke- Are you saying that what I am talking about doesn't work? Or help? I understand what you are talking about when it comes to a cooling convection box but what about just using fans in the compartment?

I run three amps in one compartment.

this is a pretty good explanation...
http://www.bcae1.com/

go to "amp racks" #25

one of the major problems is it requires a flat surface - most amps are mounted on the curved hull..

hope that helps,

mike
