i am looking into a boat i found online...its description calls is a 2002 malibu 21 LSV. it is described as having the diamond hull. if anyone who knows about malibu's can fill me in on the is boat and if the diamond hull is a nice wake boat or not...thanks

i'm pretty sure that hull is made more for skiing. at 25 mph plus the wake just sits down. it still can throw a decent wake, you just would have to add more ballast than normal. sometimes i ride behind a 2005 vlx with a diamond hull. its still a super fun boat!!!!! good luck

The Diamond hull is their ski hull and I have witnessed the wake in person....for a V drive it takes a LOT of weight to produce a decent wake. Peronally I would stay away from the Diamond hull if your main purpose is wakeboarding.

Haha...you guys are silly!

Here's the wake from my 2001..(same boat)! The wedge was UP a this time. Gets much taller with it down. We rode at 25 mph and the wake was anything but flat.

I rode behind identical '06 VLXs, one had a diamond and one had the wake hull. The diamond hull was nice, you did have to weight it down quite a bit to make it bigger. The wakehull was a lot nicer, bigger without extra weight for sure!

I would say that if you have full MLS plus the wedge on the diamond hull, the wake is smaller by almost half as the regular wake hull with MLS and the wedge!

We had the diamond hull with full mls, wedge and extra weight and I thought it was nice. The day we picked up the wakehull with just mls and wedge it was bigger by far!

This is a wedged, '06 vlx with Diamond hull about as good as it got. I'd say 24MPH at 70-75'

That's as good as we got it with full MLS, wedge and extra weight in the nose, mid and trunks.

The Wakehull, was that easy stock, even bigger

VLX to LSV is Apples to Oranges.

In 04 the introduced a new LSV hull. Some said my wake was better, but it did take more weight.

In perspective though...I only ran 2400 + wedge in my 2001 LSV. I run the same weight in my 05 X2.

I'm actually a little confused now after re-reading the orignal post..Is there such thing as a 21 LSV? I thought the Luxury Sport V ony can in 23' No?

j-rod the susnsape 21LSV is the same as the Vlx only on the diamond hull and without the wake package. There is the Vlx, 21LSV, Wake23LSV, and the Sunscape 23LSV.

Got it. So the pre 2004 23 Wakesetter LSV hull became the Sunscape 23LSV.
