does anyone know how much hardline rope will stretch after a long period of time???

Depends upon what rope you bought and how you strecthed it. A normal spectra line will stretch 1-3 feet before the fibers are set. Spectra does stretch under continious load, but resists stretching under shock type loads.

Best advice - tie your new rope to a large tree with a 'beaner and loop over your hitch. Get it tight and put it park for a hour. Pull on it occasionally. Nothing beats riding with if for setting the fibers, but this will shorten the process.
