Is anyone using the Kenwood KCA-iP500 iPod adapter on a newer Supra? I am wondering how user friendly the iPod controls are through the stereo remotes on the driver's side or transome remote. Can you flip through albums, artists, and playlists? Even if not using specifically on a Supra, any feedback?

Jeff,

This link shows compatibility with various Kenwood decks and the KCA-iP500. It shows what the unit will and wont do based on the head unit it is attached to.

Just for information. I have a Pioneer Z1 Navagation unit in my truck and the Pioneer IPOD interface. It is a terrible solution for the IPOD. Browsing music is very very very slow. It is really only functional using playlists. That said, I don't know specifics regarding how the Kenwood performs.

Jeff,
Look on Moomba.com bulletin board... search for KCA-iP500 there are several posts on that from last year. I saw several complaints about how slow it reacts.. there is also a post on how to bypass some of the functions...

One option is the Harmon Kardon Drive Play.. Look around on the net there are some smokin deals on that.. I have one in my truck and it is great. I have to use FM trans on my truck, but tried in my wifes car on a direct input and it sounds great. I got mine for $20 at stootsi.com but I think they are out. look on ebay and on google. HK has d/c this model to put out a new one that is bluetooth, etc. that is $299.
