Hey guys, I need some advise. I have a 2003 Moomba Mobius LSV with the factory tower. I noticed some very small hair-line cracks around the mount in the fiberglass gelcoat.

I plan to install a spacer material between the mount and the gelcoat in order to keep the mount from being in direct contact with the gelcoat.

I pulled the screws and backing plate off the mounts, but the mount will not come off. It looks to have some kind of epoxy material between the mount and the gelcoat.

How do I get these mounts off my boat to fix my problem without destroying the gelcoat?

You can buy some stuff that is designed to dissolve the 3m 5200 sealant they probably used. I'm not sure what it's called but it comes in a little spray can. Try a boat store, they should have it.
