This past weekend Chad Sharpe landed a Toeside Indy DOUBLE backroll. It was in Florida and its all on film. The film has not been released yet but that is a sick @$$ trick! Better than the 1080? Ill leave it up to you, but way to go Chad! Reppin Ronix!

I'd say that is better than a 1080 only because I believe he is the only person to ever land one! And double flips are freaking awesome!

There is something to be said for 3 handle passes

Patiently awaiting the video footage...

A toe f/s 1080 is 4 handle passes if you land wrapped; 5 once you pass the handle. Parks double half cab roll is very, very similar in rotation to a double toe backroll, though he doesn't grab indy. Both sick, I'd take the 1080...

make that 3+ handle passes

Why does one have to be better then the other? They are both sick tricks, congrats Chad!!!

I personally think the 1080 heelside is the most impressive. But I can't wait to see double toeside back roll

I seem to recall that Gerry Nunn busted one of these (no grab) in My House or Monkey on a String or some other similar vintage vid.

Gerry Nunn did double heelside back roll. Definately mexican style.
Parks used to do temper tantrums (double tantrum) and double half cab rolls. I have also seen video of parks doing double heelside backrolls. And of course the double half cab mobe. Probably the craziest wake board trick ever done.

I want to say Josh Sanders was also landing something double back.

does anyone know what boat pulled this trick?
don't forget the SpeedBall!!

Yep, the same one (Mexican) as Nunn. I think Chad's is very impressive since nobody has done one. Landing TS coming down from a double seems pretty tough...you land short and it's bad news.

I wouldnt quite say that a double toeside backroll rivals a 1080 but it is a very sick trick. Its just good to see that the envelope is being pushed in different ways. I'm excited to see what the pros bring this year

i thought it was daniel watkins not josh sanders

Nunn does his minus the double up. Pretty impressive

i had (perhaps have if I can find it) chris williams coming super close to a hs double back roll. not mexican stlye. Dubs if you read this do you have any of those on film? I think chris is one of the only riders who never has a freakin camera. he doesnt care about the footage as long as he rides good.

Im with scott, but still chowders ridin sick this year.

Darren, no doubt a loaded down X-Star.
speed balls are pretty sick.

and yes I still thaink, but will not get into argument, that the cab ten was the cleanest.

ts bs 7 trumps all of that!

J-Rod

it was daniel watkins at parks double or nothing going for a heelside double roll to blind
Old     (dnp33)      Join Date: Jan 2007       09-05-2007, 6:44 PM Reply
darren it might have been chads malibu VLX, we'll have to wait and see the video to decide what was sickest, but a CLEAN toe back 7 would trump all of that, shanes didnt (but it still was a toe back 7 no argument from me)
i personally believe we have to ask parks what is the sickest wakeboarding trick because he's done pretty much everything except toe back 7, and toe double back roll that i can think of
Old     (nvboarder)      Join Date: Nov 2005       09-05-2007, 6:56 PM Reply
If I had to guess it was behind his loaded down Malibu or an X-Star. But I can't wait to see it on Video.

Sam 'BoBo' Collins has landed a few ts bs 9s off the kicker!
Old     (mcwakerider)      Join Date: Dec 2006       09-05-2007, 7:38 PM Reply
did he hold the indy grab all the way through...? if so that is an absolute joke. i agree with tim. it was either chads malibu or rusty's x-star
Old     (dlwsrider)      Join Date: Apr 2007       09-05-2007, 7:48 PM Reply
Alex, sorry, but kickers dont count.

still sick though
Old     (wakeworld)      Join Date: Jan 1997       09-05-2007, 8:22 PM Reply
It was behind Chad's Malibu VLX and he does hold the grab all the way through. I can't believe how cleanly he lands it. Between the grab and the clean landing, it doesn't look like he's hucking it at all! Pretty impressive!
Old     (liquidmalibu)      Join Date: Sep 2007       09-05-2007, 8:38 PM Reply
Yep its definantly Daniel Watkins that does the backs and nearly landed the double back to blind (sick). i saw Jeff Weatherall nearly landed a method double back roll (grabbed pretty much the whole trick).
Old     (borka)      Join Date: Jul 2006       09-06-2007, 12:02 AM Reply
Jonathan Nadolski also does the double hs backs...

I rewatched Monkey on a String and Nunn's Mexi-roll, and after watching it more closely I have come to the conclusion a mexi-roll is a separate trick than a back roll. Ok - I know a can of worms vetted several times before but just thought I would throw another opinion out there. The way Nunn threw it, it is perfectly rail over rail. Kind of like the difference between a TS front flip and TS front roll - both similar but recognized as different trick.

I will look forward to seeing Chad's double.

Hey David, I totally agree with you about asking Parks, and thats REALLY crazy that you said that cause I was at Radar lake last weekend for a dealer meeting and I asked Parks the very same thing. Even though his brothers got the ts bs 7, he said grabbed or tweaked double rolls put pretty much any spin to shame
Old     (dnp33)      Join Date: Jan 2007       09-06-2007, 3:47 PM Reply
yea i agree because you can grab longer but i would rather see one 1080 than 10 grabbed double roll, and the same way one grabbed double roll(even not grabbed)than 10 1080's.
its originality and innovation that i think is cool so right now grabbed double roll is the coolest trick out there IMO

Never mind just looked on the link above... Sick move... and he made it look so damn easy.

A heel back nine will trump all. That trick will be landed next.
Old     (dlwsrider)      Join Date: Apr 2007       09-06-2007, 6:17 PM Reply
Im with magellan, that would be some gnar s**t

I'm with magellan also. A heel back nine would be 4 handle passes if you land blind with the handle behind your back. That would be sweeet! I think it will happen. Who would have thought we would see a TS BS 7 ! Props to Chad he held that grab for the whole thing you have got to love style.
