I guess I took to long to start and finish my Enzo speaker grill project the orignal thread got archived LOL. Well I got the grills and the box back from Harrold last night, He hooked me up big time I owe you huge Harrold

Ok so back to the project. Dammm this thing took on a life of its own and sort of grew and grew. The SMT (surface mout tech) LED lights I got from Kris at Wake Specialty sort of opend up a bunch of project's that were not possable. The LED projects just spun off from there.

Warning for those of you wanting to take on a SMT project the LED's are kind of delicate when they are not mounted. You see the circut board they are soldered on bends quite easy to the point when you have long run's like I did they can break very easy. You have to use the ut-most care until they are secure they will not take the constant bending. Kind of like how you can break a coat hanger if you bend it back and forth a few times. And I handled them with care but the 15 times I took them in and out of the grills to get a perfict fit I broke a few here and there. And yes you have to re solder in new segments that go bad.

It might be time for a LED intervention.

I think; at night it's going to look like it on fire.

Grant
Do you have any picture of your boat at night with the tower up and LED on?

Grant,

quick question; ive heard over and over and over from people on this site that you cannot hear clearly 4 6x9s while you are riding. is that the case with your 4 bostons pointing back? what is the sound quality of your system while you are riding behind your boat?

Isaac: I feel your pain. I hear the same thing over and over. I guess it all depends on how sencitive your hearing is. I have 4 back a 4 shooting down. I can hear it loud and clear.
I bet half the people that have a 4 6X9 set up dont have them set up correctly so they might be a bad rep of how they really sound. But there looks like a few new HCLD tower speaker companys are comming out so you will have more option's.

That looks sweet now. Really clean.

I just picked up a set of image dynamics horns, xovers and 8 drivers. Going to start making a new box.

I have to say Grant is right about the sound around the boat being much better with 6x9's. The pro audio is great if you want to be heard a mile away, but it kinda suffers in the immediate vicinity. Time to look into some 6x9's with my ID's for projecting back.

Hey G, do you have a pic of how wide those led strips are? They look really wide in one of your last posts, but nothing to really compare it to. I'll try your site to see if I see anything.

Grant is a true craftsman and perfectionist.

When are you putting LEDs on your washer and dryer that sits on your back porch?

I love the fact that Mrs. White Chocolate lets him do so much work in the kitchen. If that was me there would be one hell of a mess. And I wouldn't allowed back into the house.

You might be able to pick up some genuine Enzo parts cheap after this one. If there is anything left. He hit a phone pole 5-10 ft off the ground.

Hey Grant- Does the metal mesh material block more or less sound than the cloth setup you had on before?
