www.boatstereos.com/gallery Don't know if this boat stereo gallery site has been posted here before but came across it and thought people here would appreciate it. I know Chopper's X-Star Kicker tower system has made it on here before... but there's a few I hadn't seen before...Grants 2001 SAN with 2 8" subs, 6 6.5" mids, and 6 tweets on the tower makes my 4 6.5" tower speakers look shabby!

Boatstereos.com is a site that Tom Biggs threw together to showcase systems, It. I had planed on starting a site www.boatbeats.com but never got it going so Tom took the ball and ran with it. Thats why you see alot of the same photos you see on www.svtsupercharged.com/gallery because Tom and I are friends. There are so many questions here everyday about Boat Audio Im suprised that no one becides Tom, has anything going.(if you know of one let us know) It is a way of seeing what is out there. Tom has a crazy system in his Tsunami as well. I know Tom would like it if you sent him photo's of your system to add to the install gallery. Mabey it can be as big as W/W for boat stereos only???

Laci, My insurance company finally gave Gonnasons the go ahead to fix it so it should be back on the water next week. Just as well, I really need to dredge my boat slip anyway and throw some more bumpers on the dock finger. Grant, I'll take some pics of my system when I get it back and send'em to Tom, it's nowhere near some of the stuff he's got up on there but it definately pounds and it's very clean. Can't really see my sub though (JL Audio W7 10") cause I had an amp enclosure fabricated inside the fake wall in front of the driver's seat.

David - If you and Nick want to ride this weekend, let me know. I will be out Saturday morning and/or evening, then next Monday if the weather is nice. I owe you both some pulls. Just give a call.

By the way , Grant, the speaker system on the back of that boat is ridiculous! Laci, we were supposed to move into the condo last weekend but our lender screwed some paperwork up and we didn't close until today so we'll actually be moving this weekend (we're renting our own house from the buyer for our house until we move into the condo, messed up...our lender's paying for it though). Anyway, busy this weekend, but monday might work. Nick and I are probably going to do a little work on my dock today, throw another amp in his boat, and hopefully get a run in if the weather cooperates. Give me a ring if you're interested. Thanks for the invite.

Yeah those Subs are kickass. Does anyone know if they make diferent set ups for say a VLX? And also does anyone know if there any custom billet speaker grills for 6.5's. I hate the way the screens just pop in and I lost one on the 4th of July weekend on one of my infinity's on the tower.

I don't know of a setup that is specific to the VLX but you could just buy the sub or subs that you want (do you have a sub yet?) and then find a sub cover that you like and that works. For subs, personally I'd recommend JL Audio W7 (maybe a little biased because that's what I got but it really pounds!) or the Kicker SoloX. Course they're both pretty damn expensive so if you don't want to spend quite so much there are lesser JL Audios (like the W6v2) and Kickers (Solo-baric). For a sub cover you could have something custom made like the X emblem pictured above on Chopper's X-star which will cost you an arm and a leg, or you could get something already made that looks nice and save yourself some money. Tsunami makes a nice grill (the Fishman http://www.partsexpress.com/webpage.cfm?&DID=7&WebPage_ID=3&manufacturer=325&s m=1&so=1) and Audiobahn makes a few nice grills - the flame grill, neon blue/red LED grill, and my personal favorite - the dub grill...you can find them new on ebay if you search sub grill, here's a link to the dub grill, http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=48613&item=5708558 943&rd=1. All of these grills are rounded though so they wouldn't work for the squared kickers. As far as speaker grills for 6.5's go, tube acoustics makes some nice grills but if you ask me they're kind of expensive for such a small grill...here's the link though http://www.stcolphoto.com/accessories.htm.
