MAD DOG Trailor Guide Pads

I had thought about not posting these because of the other thread but after I got to thinking about it I had a really good experience with this company and thought I would share. The pics are the best but they get the job done.







The ordering experience was a dream with these guys. I called an ordered with them while I was waiting to board a flight and the guy was super helpful. Obviously he was very knowledgeable when it came too towboats and we talked for a good 30 minutes about much more than trailer guide pads. This guy went into crazy detail about trailers and what sizes were what and what would be best. They actually had special going at the time I ordered (a special I wouldn't have known about without the email I received). Anyway completed the order with all my questions answered.

The guide pads arrived quickly and I was pretty impressed with the quality. The construction on these things is nice and heavy duty and I love the capped ends. I also liked the fact that they were 48" long. A def. upgrade as compared to what I had by far.

Anyway just wanted to share my exp with the company which was a good one and it seems they produce a solid product that I couldn't find anything comparable anywhere else.

Bill, that is a nice collection of links you posted. Def a cheaper alt. I checked out most of the ones you posted before I ordered the maddog ones. All the ones you posted seem to be similar to maddogproducts standard guide pole covers:

When you check out that link you'll see that maddog is pretty competitive with the pricing, actually they are the cheapest, just no graphics like the Barts ones. I however wanted something a little beefier. My old guide pole covers were the same thin nylon material that like the ones you posted and they just didn't hold up to much abuse. The heavy duty ones I ordered seem a lot more robust. I don't know if you can tell from the picture but the material is thick! Similar to what an army duffle bag feels like. I have yet to find another company that make the guide pole covers out of this type of material hence the extra cost.

Nope can't tell in their ad. Or maybe I just didn't look. I guess I just grouped them in same group as Barts & Overtons.... which I rarely read either.

I know the ones from Scream Sacs & SkySki aren't thin cheap ones either. The rest may or may not be.

I guess the difference is either 200 or 600 denier nylon. I could be wrong but it seems the 200 has a lot more sheen to it than the 600. The Barts specifically states 200 putting them on par with the standard maddogs, the others don't. Either way nice product and awesome customer service.

It could have been my wifes driving skills but the old 200 ones I had got shredded.

Dang I thought I had some pics of these old ones but I don't, they were bad. I like how these are going to float up and down as well during loading.
