pics i got from my buddy brian rob. in texas. sent me the pic of all the sacks about a week before she went down. said the rub rail seal came apart and she capsized. thought id share.
That doesn't even make sense. I can't possibly see the cap coming off unless someone left out the rivets when they were assembling it. And that's only like 2000lbs worth of weight? Something else was going on.... They must have added more weight and let the rub-rail dip below the surface in order to capsize.
Why were the bags left in the boat for a week? Anytime Someones boat I know sinks its becasue they leave the bags in. I dont know why it happens but it does.
Who said its a rub rail leak? I bet its a prop seal leak, enough water gets in and boom, rub rails under water.

i should have been more clear in my origional post. when he sent me the pics of the sacks they were just surfing that day they emptied the sacks after every ride. my bad

it still had the weight in it when it capsized though? This is wierd, Besides why would they leave the boat docked with the weight to the rub rail? they were asking to be sunk.
That is strange you said the rub rail came apart. A person that Is part of our boating community sent his boat back to Nautique 2-3-4 times, cant remember exactly, for his rub rail coming apart and leaking tons of water into the boat. Wonder if your boat is a defect like his was
