From what I have heard on wakeworld they are a good value for in boat speakers and not so much on the tower.

I love em I have em on my tower and I'm getting more to go in the boat I'm not real sure how good they are back behind the boat though because I use my ipod while I ride

I am not putting them on the tower, just in the boat. I have roswell cans with Kenwoods in them, that I am not very impressed with. What would be a good replacement for those?

They are a good option for inside the boat. I would definitely use these again (for inside the boat).

Just FYI, I think the db651s is the shallow mount version of the DB651, unless you put the "s" on there to make it plural. I'm planning on putting 6 of the db651 in my boat eventually.

tailgate, yeah I think that's right I have the DB651 model speakers on my tower. Paul, if you're talking about the DB651s speakers then I don't know

Good Catch, Would there be any problem mounting the regular db651s' (non shallow mount) in the boat? I wasn't sure if the regular mounts would fit in the gunnel or not, thats why I thought they came out with the shallows. (sorry I am stereo dumb).

Great speakers. I have had them in my last 2 boats.

I believe, Crutchfield has a 2 for 1 sale right now.

Paul, I have been looking for the best price and finally bought 3 pairs along with 2 pairs of polk 6x9. I found the 6.5 to be the cheapest at rewardspointusa.com $54.95 a pair. Good Luck.

i had the momo's in my last boat. sounded great and held up well.

just got done installing their new MM series MM6501 components. they sound great. smaller magnets because they're some sort of new fancy pants Neodymium material. i like the looks of them better than the momo's and db series.

I was looking at those MM as well but the cheapest I found those were $129.00 a pair and the 6x9 at $139.00 pair. I bought 3 pairs of DB651 and 2 pairs of polk db691 for a little over $400 shipped. The MM would of cost me $600 plus.

I had the momo's on my last boat and loved them. I can't wait. I also bought the Wetsounds WS420. Hopefully all my toys will come in by Saturday so I can install it all.

I had to buy three pairs and a transom remote, so I thought they should be plenty of sound. I already have a sub, so I should be set.

I bought the MMC650's from Crutchfield for $70 a pair, couldn't pass it up.

Wish I would have seen your post before I pulled the trigger Bannon!

Razzman I saw that sale too, but was to slow to purchase them. Plus the 6.5 momo Magnet is too big and won't fit in my dash, they will bottom out. So that is another reason why I went with the DB. The Momo's are sweet speakers and I hope the DB sound as good.

Soor Paul. Crutchfield does have are good price on refurbished Rockford Fosgate amps right now if you are in the market for one.

Bruce you are right they look sweet. I heard they are loud and clear. I had some money that I had put aside and I couldn't afford both the MM and and the WS 420, but I could buy the Polk DB speakers and the WS 420. So I went that route. I hope the Wetsound WS420 was worth not getting the MM Speakers. Thanks for posting some pictures.

thanks. the 420 is nice. i think you'll be really happy with it. i installed a Syn 6, pair of Pro80's and the 420 a couple weeks ago and then these MM6501's this last weekend. sounds great. really happy with it. still have a bit of tuning to do once i can get it out of the garage, but it sounds great.

I have 6 of the dB650's in my boat and they sound awesome. I've got 4 of them running off my Kicker ZX700.5, 2 (bow) powered by the headunit, and all with the HPF cutoff at like 100hz or so. The mid-high sound quality is awesome, especially for the price.

I actually swapped out my MMC 651's for the DB 651's in my boat. I felt the DB's gave a much much crisper sound. The MMC's gave a much more true all around sound hitting the mids and lows much much better, but myself I prefer the crisper sounds of the DB651's. I was under the rms by 10 watts on the MMC's so that may have played a factor, but again I just liked the sound a little better from the DB651'sas I have dedicated 12inch sub to hit the mids and lows.

How do the DB651's handle power? Has anyone ever pushed 100+ watts to them?

Without looking, i think i recall them being rated at 60 watta rms ea.

i have these in my boat and they sound great..especially for the price. if you really wnat some great sound check this out. i put db651 in the front open bow, and in the back i enlarged the holes to fit db691 and i posted this before the db691 6x9's ROCK!!! i would do that. in the bigger back seating area you need a little more sound than two db651 and db691's were the ticket for me plus you get more bass out of them.

I will actually have four in the rear of the boat, so I think that should suffice. Thanks for the info though.
