I have an 07 X2 that has 48 hours on it. The boat runs perfect. I have always owned other style boats other than wakeboarding boats. This was the first wakeboarding boat that I bought. I am not all that happy with the wake. Unlike all the great pro armchair quarterbacks in here that ride at a pro level, I am a true intermediate rider. I like to entertain and teach people how to wakeboard. The wake in this boat is super wide, extremely steep and takes a lot of weight to get right. That being said, its only a 20 foot boat and there is nota lot of space left after you account for ballast sacs and stereo. It is a great boat for a crew of good riders. My wife gets behind the boat and gets scared if I go over 18 or 19 MPH and this wake doesnt get real clean until 24-26 mph. If I put weight up front to mellow it out at slower speeds then the wake is not ideal for me or any of the other good riders that ride with us.

With all that being said is I normally sell my boats private party. I bought the boat extremely right priced and I'm curious what you think a dealer might give me as a trade value on my boat. The boat is a 07 X2 w/ perfect pass, zero flex tower, 4 wetsound pro 80 tower speakers, 3 alpine pdx amps, 2 12 Jl audio w3 subs, RTP engine, ballast, swivel board racks, pro tower mirror, sirius radio with transon controller, remote lighting, fiberglass swim step and Im sure there are others.

Any help would be appreciated. Dealers, feel free to chime in too. I believe low NADA book is 52,000 on an 06. There is still no book for 07.

I am guessing your best trade in value will be about $15,000. So if you want I will pay you a premium... $18,000... but thats my last offer!

You will get raped on a trade in. You are way better off selling via private sale. If you would like to forgo all the hassle, I will give you 40K for it.

Wow all those options and upgrades and you skimped on the engine. Kinda like building a million dollar dream home with all the lastest and greatest appliances, lighting, spas and pools and then choosing to put vinyl siding on the exterior.

I am not even sure what that means....

Didn't you know this prior to purchasing the boat?

Trade is going to be VERY low. Just off the top of my head, maybe 5% off low book of the '06...maybe even lower.

How far back are you riding? IMO, the wake is wide at 80', but at 70' its no wider than most of the others out there.

my guess would be they offer you 40K then try to sell it themselves for 50K+

What kind of wake are you wanting for beginners? A beginner doesnt really need a narrow wake or large wake for that matter. If you are truly teaching people to ride, I dont think the wake is all that important and you dont need all the sacks and weight.
To answer your question, if retail on a 06 is 52k than you should be able to sell it for 52-54k being an 07. I sold my 06 X2 6 months ago for 54k. I also love the 07 X2. IMO It rides and drives better than any 20ft v drive boat and has a ton more storage than most 20 footers.

Ask a dealer.

i recently sold my supra ssv 22 for a 07 x2. i don't understand your issues. my son (13) along with myself are easily clearing w2w 180's and 360's with the x2. yes it is somewhat wide but we are only running stock ballast along with a xtra 400 lbs of pop-products. the wake is solid at the speeds of anywhere from 20.5 thru 24.

and to agree with billy, the storage is just simply out of this world for a 20ftr.

my supra was a great boat but the storage was horrible by the time you loaded the boat out with ballast.

I would adjust your rope length for the width and check your speed with GPS. I just rode behind a tige and ended up at 60' in comparison to 70' behind my bu.

I would sell that boat privately, I have to believe an X2 is very desireable and an easy sell if priced right.

If you need to get a clean wake at 18 mph you may want to add the trim plate option to your X-2. This will help to push the bow down, making the wake a little smaller and a lot crisper. I use the trim plate when teaching kids or anyone that really wants to ride at slower speeds.

Don't hear many unhappy X2 people. My experience with the X2 has been great (friend has one). I have a 21 foot Mobius LSV and the X2 has a lot more storage space than I have. To each his own I guess. You will get eaten alive by a dealer on a trade. A boat that nice will sell pretty fast I think privately. Engine could be an issue but someone will want it.

Yeah you have to go to a 24 foot boat to get much more interior room than an X2.

I agree that if the wake isn't clean at the slower speeds, you need to either shorten the rope or put people in the front. Try plumbing in a integrated bow sac from Fly High. Nothing wrong with riding 65 feet either if you are intermediate. X2 should ride 5 feet shorter rope length than say a Malibu anyway.

And yes a beginner should be more than happy riding 60 or 65 feet at 20-22 mph. Wake should be clean there.

Wife gets scared riding faster than 18-19 mph - try putting her on 80 foot rope (since she probably isn't jumping) to get used to faster speed. Narrow wakes can me intimidating I think. Back there plenty o room between wakes.

there is no way the wake is washy @ 18mph w/o ballast... and if you are trying to learn w/ fulll ballast your are doing nothing but wasting gas... seems there are a lot of people that think just b/c you have ballast means you have to fill it all the way... you have a very nice boat w/ a very nice wake.. however go out and try to ride w/ only a few peeps and for pete-sake don't fill any ballast...

I agree with Joshua. I was out this weekend and someone was loading up the ballast to take their 8yr old tubing. They went straight at 20MPH and did nothing but waste gas and kill the lake for the rest of us.

Drop the ballast and go for it. As you progress, add some speed and then some ballast. It'll come very quickly.

Add a plate like someone already said...We pull kids all day long with the plate adjusted and I can get a decent clean wake at 18 mph 60'.
